Come and check out the first installment of this new series from Heart of the Hyperpower, looking at "the rivals" of PanOceania. In our first article we consider the Nomad Witch hEXx3r, how she plays, her strengths and weaknesses, and how she matches up against her PanOceanian counterpart Gaia.
Really good article, as everyone before. You covered every aspect of the game, I like it ! Something missing maybe... you wrote about her efficiency to support others, is there any way she can be more efficient while being supported by another aristo? (tricky question maybe lol)
Well, she does benefit from both Hannibal and Oberon. But an initiative boost from our shiny new Wonder Woman will also help ensure that she gets in the final vote in any round.
I'm waiting for Hyppolita as well ! More than Gaia I think she's a real game changer as everything begins with... initiative
Yeah, I think that Hyppolita is an interesting pick. Solid Melee output, good defense, potentially high mobility and a specific but effective support element. Well rounded, but I can easily see people leaving her behind in favour of a team made of more focused elements.
Hey, finally found the time: Vade Retro is quite reliable. Three yellow dice produce awith a 70% chance. Comparing this to the (I think) most common combination of + for 78% for a, this is superb. Especially with the low cost of 1 Action point, plus the option for the switch. Maybe one of the reasons she is picked so often in tournaments
You and I have different definitions of "quite reliable" ;-) But that's ok, and you are quite right about the 1 Action Point cost helping to balance that out. Still, it's "Gotcha" which really suffers from a lack of reliability, while "Vade Retro" is ok for its cost.
Compared to other 2 Energy actions (eg Surpressive Fire from Lunah with 78%) this is fantastic. Plus the possibility to trigger the switch every time, even multiple times. Gotcha is a total different story. 56% success chance for 2 Energy is not cool. But immobilized is also a very strong state. So okay in terms of game balance.
Well, we'll get to my opinion of the numbers on other Abilities later. I hear you, but I stand by my comments.
Oh, sorry, you mean the Arena Extra as opposed to the new play area layout. Yes, that WILL be very useful for any similar low odds Actions.
