I'm surprised I haven't seen this in here. It's on the Defiance page. I like them

The Jayth looks awesome. I'll probably run them as my proxies for Krakots too, because they look way way better.

I love how the Jayth is channeling some Double Dragon design with the skinny legs and the ultra buff chest. Looks kinda funny, but also very cool.

The new speculo is plain better than the one we got on the blister. I like her. Really hope there's a way to get her out of the kickstarter

Yeah, it looks like Defiance will have a completely separate set of sculpts from the main Infinity wargame.

Which means I’ll probably never get them because I can’t afford to buy box sets or whole games! :(

So lets talk about the Jayth. To me they are a Warband in all but name. Essentially more expensive Myrmidons.

    Stat highlights. CC23, BS12, ARM0, BTS6

Regular and Frenzy. To me the Frenzy sure didn’t make them any cheaper. It almost would have been better to make them Impetuous. At least they’d have the extra order at the start.

ODD is fantstic but with their 0ARM, a trooper with MSV2 and a Slingshot can take them out.

MSV1, ok not bad. He can a least discover a mine before he’s take out by it. Sensor would have been better. It can be great for taking out other skirmishers.

NBW with CC23 and DA CCW is pretty good! I just wish he had Protheon.

Shock Immune means almost nothing to me, they at least are not removed from the table immediately. Big whoop. If it had been Bioimmunithy at least they could have used their BTS6.

    Profiles

I really like the cheapest one at 22pts. E/Maulers can be fantastic. I still find them too expensive though.

Initially l liked the Red Fury. It imposes a modifier and takes away. But as soon as he kills a single guy he becomes impetuous! I don’t mind it so much on the cheap guys, but this one, who was a good gun fighter, now looses cover. TBH i haven’t tried him out yet, so i’ll give a go and see if I’m worrying about nothing.

Frenzy doesn't kick in until the start of your next active turn, not immediately.

In addition they have easy access to Haris and Duo to control their Frenzy, Red Fury in a Duo with Messer is a fun little shoot & Specialist combo.

That's the stated aim - no exact duplicates between Defiance and Infinity.

Oooh it did. If anything, they're fractionally cheaper than a Myrmidon, given their gear.

I strongly suggest using more terrain with Visibility Zones if you think MSV1 is just for enemy Camo. ;-)

Shock Immunity and Shasvastii = still counts for area control missions when other equivalent troopers would be Dead.

I think you're looking at Jayth wrongly. They clearly have little place in a vanilla army, with maybe the pit patrol serving as something of an elite midfield defense with sensor and a disposable taigha.

Where they will shine is as a small fireteam with victor messer in Shasvastii. You put a Jayth, the red fury and messer in a team, and you have a 3 alien fireteam that can punch through a lot of targets:

    Shasvastii Expeditionary Force
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]3
JAYTH CUTTHROATS (Fireteam: Haris) Submachine Gun, Chain Rifle, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, Knife. (0 | 26)
JAYTH CUTTHROATS Red Fury, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, Knife. (1 | 35)
VICTOR MESSER (Hacking Device Plus) Boarding Shotgun, 2 Nanopulser, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 28)

    1.5 SWC | 89 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

89 points and 1,5 nets you a neat toolbox unit that can complete some objectives while still ruining the day of most stuff. They even get white noise to avoid those pesky MSV pieces.

I'm not into math but ya he as a few more bells and whistles than a Myrm chainrifle. But the cost means I can’t afford other things that are needed for the force. At least a Myrm can have a combi rifle. For Jayth, by the time they are in good range with the SMG, the ODD means little because the enemy is probably in good range too! The Red Fury is nice but expensive!

Easier said than done.I would love to have terrain that goes with my force :)

Most know to double tap if they don't kill it outright. It deson’t mean much with so much shock, or just loosing multiple ARM saves with ARM 1 or 0. He has shcok immunity but not many others. It’s crazy the Nox has better than them with Bioimmune.

The big issue is that they can't see through Messer's White Noise themselves. :-(

I've used a similar Haris but with Hasht instead of the Red Fury to good effect:

Both are good, I like the second group better. But now how about the rest of the force? Becasue you have those three expensive guys, the rest of the force suffers.

I don't see Sensor on the Pit Patrol, or the Pit Patrol in vanilla. Am I missing something?

I dun goofed and mixed the Pit Patrol and the Stalker Unit on my mind.
If your oponent spends 1 order killing a model that's already unconcious just because they're able to, they're either so severely ahead of you they don't care, or they are spending one order that neither gives them an advantage nor takes anything from you (You already lost the order when the model went unconscious). So double tapping in this game might actually be worse for your opponent.

I agree. I also used them in Haris with Messer to good effect, enemy needs a lot of orders or proper tools (MSV or DTWs) to deal with them if they manage to find a good spot in the midfield.

They might not have an ultra cheap loadout like the 16 pts Myrmidon, but they're much more toolboxy than the Myrms, being decent in a firefight and frightening in CQB. Their only weak point is low durability, but that's par the course for Shas, SEF always was a glass cannon (it's actually less pronounced now after Gwailo change).

Depends on when it scores. They're considered killed at end of game.

Most of the area control missions say that unconscious Shasvastii counts as part of the mission rules.
