Well I played him yesterday with the new rules. I din't like him before and still don't like him. Frenzy is a huge drawback for a guy that's essentially a bigger, overpriced HI. I'd rather take the Al Faseed by far. How to be fair, he was going up against a Maggy, but still he was very ineffective.

Scarface really only shines imo in the Druze sectorial where he can duo so you don't have to worry about the frenzy so much.

Scarface is neat. Not great, but neat.

The main advantage SF gets over other big pieces (Al Fasid and Daiyokai) is you can hop the pilot out after he's unconsciou. This means he can take quite a few hits before he's not contributing any more.

Looks like his pilot profile gets Fatality L1 (at least on army), so that's neat too.

Bringing 3 orders on frenzy might be fun, or more likely get him killed quicker.

Wait? I thought you could only hop out before the tag was unconscious?

I think you are correct. You need to be able to declare a movement skill to Dismount. Only the Iquana has a pilot that automatically takes him out of the TAG. And that's only if it goes to exactly 0 structure.

    From the Manned rule:

    • This Special Skill allows the user to receive Orders from its Order Pool despite being Unconscious. These Orders can only be used to Dismount the Pilot (see General Movement rules, Move), and use the Pilot's Troop Profile.

I hope they combine Pilot and Manned at some point.

Yeah it's a legacy rule from before the days of all TAGs having a pilot/remote pilot. They definitely should be merged into one rule.

I thought it worked even if it went past 0 S. The damage carries over to the pilot as it ejects.

Correct, Evacuation and Escape device always happen, even if the pilot ends up being ejected in the Dead state.

The Iguana and Anaconda essentially work like Transmutation/Lo-tech A.

Well, all i know is, I got him into a good position but because I caused a wound on a Maggy, the next turn he lost the cover he needed and was destroyed. I think because of it too. Frenzy or impetuous should never be on a TAG that can’t take the consequences. If he was ARM 9 and Total Invulnerable, sure. But he’s an overgrown HI instead.

I find he's generically fun, Also I've used him a bait to draw fire away from my fire teams (In QK). As a stand alone piece he's better in DBS due to the Fireteam Duo option which cancels his frenzy. Now if DBS in general had more options.
