I know it's for gameplay purposes and I still find it utterly bizarre that the CA can complain to the Conciluum that the enemy used banned weapons.

Would you find it utterly bizarre if footage of human soldiers using banned weapons in a black op against unspecified enemies was leaked onto mayanet as part of a combined army psy-op to damage morale in the sphere?

 

If it was explained that it would be fine. The explanation given is the same as for everyone else. This is definitely a situation where the description of something matters a whole lot.
