Wild Bill gets added to RTF and QK, 1) Counts as a Janissary for some reason in both RTF and QK. Hello Leila/Tarik/Namurr/Hortlak/Wild Bill/Janissaries link team. Admittedly, it's a weird call, but I welcome this adding on to the versatility of links theme in Ramah. 2) QK, Special Haris with 2 Kaplans. Heh that's cool. Not big changes, hey but I'll take it. Linked MML2 is deadly no matter whether in a Haris or full link. Might actually play with more Janissary links once I tire of playing with Ghulam links in RTF.
I'm also glad his MULTI-Pistols smack people with DA ammunition and not AP/Shock since that way, Bill's MML1 is actually useful and does not feel like a filler for MML2. Edit: scratch that, the pistols do shoot with Ap/Shock, but still, if you include Bill in the link team, you can get B3 DAM 14 DA shots.
I mean, Haqqislam is supposed to be a progressive nation. So if a person identifies as a "wild westerner" or whatever the proper term is, as a janissary, or as an attack helicopter - bid him a good day and leave him in peace. His appearance in QK where he teams with mercs makes sense.
I'm pro anything that keeps that link's cost down, for sure. I'm not using Bill though, going to convert a RTF special agent character.
Honestly, I don't think RTF needs another linkable super offensive option on top of Mukhs, Khawarijs and Tarik but I guess I can appreciate the option is there. You know what would have been fun? If instead of counting as a Janissary he counts as a Zhayedan. Now that would have been more interesting.
Probably not interesting enough to sell the model. Besides, what would it change if you take such a link? He won't be using his mobility, he's slightly better and slightly cheaper than Zhayedan BR, and in a Haris you still have to take the latter. On a scale of entire Fireteam, I don't think it would matter much. Speaking of Zhayedan riflemen, can use one from Red Veil as a proxy unless you play Zhayedans often enough to cause confusion. Or I dunno, slap a Khawariji head onto Bill proper if you don't mind his stylized guns. Eh. Frankly I'm not a fan of RTF making heavy use of mercs. But maybe I just have some stupid preconceptions on how highly professional special units work.
I thought he might have possibly had a bunch of genetic enhancement mods donecourtesy of some Haq corp that works for/with Ramah during his Ariastea career. So he does alot of work for them on the side
He is also a nice opportunity to use the Pistol Ayyar as a proxy if you don't use him that much otherwise.
It's funny that Wild Bill is linkable. And even funnier, that he's such a pal with Jannisaires ;) Still I'd be much more happy if he'd be linkable with Ghulams (like with Grunts in USAriadna). Nevertheless, it's a nice profile, even when not in fireteam. PozdRawiam / Greetings
Kaplan/Bill/Leila Haris sounds very good, and I think I've finally been convinced to get the Ayyar. I don't think I'm interested for RTF though.
It maybe is, but like I said, it doesn't IMO makes Zhayedan link interesting in the first place. After all, Bill is just an optimized Zhayedan rifleman with somewhat different saves inflicted and which cannot form Haris by himself. The entire thing is still a hard sell.
