Very disappointed with Ramah TaskForce

    I love the Hakim...I just have a very difficult time fitting them in...

    I used the Hakim a lot in vanilla as a later turn objective grabber or mid-field doctor before Rama Taskforce was unlocked.
    Won me a Tic-Tac-Toe game once where last turn Hakim shenanigans turned the game from 0-7 to a decisive 9-0 for me.
    Their little Nasmat buddies allow for some shenanigans where you tie up some of your opponent's pieces.

    Nowadays, I generally favour both specialist flavours of Nahab, which are more survivable thanks to V:NWI (as long as you're not facing a shock heavy army) and built-in stealth thanks to NBW.
    Tarik solo aside, most aggressive RTF fireteams are able to bring mobile Doctors along like the Mukhtar or Khawarij.
    I think the Hakim also has competition from the Tuareg Doctor who can start close to objectives and brings utility in the form of AP mines and survivability in the form of a TO marker state.
    That said, I think the Hakim might have a niche in missions with an exclusion zone, where you can deploy them in the strips between zones on your opponent's side, although this is very terrain dependent. And of course if you're running Tarik solo, it might be me more order efficient to deploy a Hakim close to Tarik to patch him up rather than having doctors walk all the way up from your DZ.

    Also in regard to Khawarij, I love the HRL. Mine has a ridiculous amount of kills on his name. I've had less luck with the Mk12 profile, but that's just my lack of experience with the profile. I feel he's too restricted chained to a mixed fireteam. I might have to try him as a solo hunting piece or in a Haris. I prefer the RF Mukhtar in a haris or solo for MSV2 trickery myself.

    Hey guys, I’m disappointed to see so much dislike or unrest about this sectorial. This sectoral is more or less exactly what I wanted. I wanted a tough group of boys and girls and I got that that in spades that has a few heavy hitters. Now, I no longer need to leave this faction to gain that game experience. Sure, it’s not like Yu Jings Golden Army, but it is great for me and faction flavor.

    I’m thinking this sectorial requires some time to get used to as this isn’t the typical assassins list. Note, a lot of the same thoughts were thrown around in Nomads when Tunguska dropped. Why play Tunguska when I can just add them to Regular Nomads. Now, there are many players making use of them. It took a little time to crack the code. :)

    Well that’s my two cents.

    Yeah, that's so true.
    When Hakim were shown to us (a quite long time ago) I was rather happy with their profile, even though I hoped for Akbar Doctor and the 0,5 SWC tax surprised me.
    I bought the nice minis and used one SMG guy with his Nasmat in 250pts YAMS tournament. I played Vanilla Haqq with Tarik LT, testing also Aida Swanson. And Hakim did really well, doctoring my ramboTarik when he was downed, killing some of Nomad in first game, surprising enemy Tohaa in second game and also some Ariadnians in third. I won all the games, finished 2nd, and never used Hakim again :P
    (It's also funny about Aida, because she didn't do almost anything in this tournament and I also never used her again ;) ).

    Hakims are nice objective grabbers, their cost is not bad (but also not that cheap), I thought they will be a nice competition for my typical Vanilla clickers (like Hunza, Hawwa, Farzan), but I still rely on those infiltrators. Dependant on mission Hakims can have bigger advantages, but still they start outside the battlefield, they have to use their order to come to fight, while others just use it to do stuff.
    And now - in Ramah - we have Nahabs. And many more interesting units. I play Ramah since it came out and still didn't try Hakim.

    I also never take Namurr :P
    Like the mini, don't like the bloated profile, just don't see what's so special about her. She definitely has potential, but doesn't convinve me to field her.

    And about the links - I think that my mostly used 2 guys are Ghulam ML and Khawarij HRL :) I use them in almost all games and all roosters. Khawa HRL is just great with his set of weapons.
    The rest changes, Spit is in lower pts games, Tarik in bigger. In the last ITS mission, Engineering Deck, Mk12 was my Man of the Match :) Used smoke screen from Carmen and destroyed a tough JSA link (he put down Domaru Spit and 2 Tanko ML), severely damaging enemy's army and opening the table for me.
    I never used Ghulam NCO yet. But I'm a fan of Khawarij NCO, thanks to him I can take my LI Ramah Task Force with virtually 11 regular orders, impetuous and irregular ;)

    The army is so flexible, that's one of the best things. In my LI armylist I have 10 units, but 8 of them can be linked (Tarik Spit LT2, Khawa: HRL, Mk12, Doc, NCO, CoC, Leila, Ghulam ML, plus Shihab and Carmen) - it only depends on what mission I play, what the situation is, who is going first, I can adjust the FireTeam to work how I want it to. I'm definitely not saying it's some uber optimized rooster, but I like it, have fun with it and that's what counts ;)

    Total Immunity, Multiterrain, Climbing Plus, and E/Marats. Even if you’re in a meta where terrain rules aren’t used, Mukhtars really really hate Dazers...

    Things Namurrs are good at;

    Getting to objectives (fast, tough, climbing plus, multiterrain can ignore most deployable weapons etc, fantastic dodge for avoiding mines and so on).

    Pressing buttons (see above, plus obviously both profiles are specialists, and they have D-Charges for when the objective calls for that).

    CQB (they have a powerful and relevant template type, they have a great dodge, they can take a hit and keep on going... all of these things are very important for CQB).

    Basically take them for missions where you need to explode something, or need a dedicated button pusher but there's an exclusion zone, or need to hold an area. Armoury, Looting and Sabotage, Power Pack, Supplies etc.

    If you never take the Namurr you'll never learn how to make them work, but if you do, they absolutely do work.

    I'll generally take at least one Namurr in objective-heavy missions with exclusion zones. I'll also typically take one in any mission that rewards you for killing something with your datatracker. Both of those let me take advantage of the mobility and durability of the Namurr while running around pushing buttons/killing things.

    There was also a game of rescue where I spent ten orders turn one on a Namurr duo, but a big part of what made them good in that mission is the difficult terrain zone, which is the biggest complaint about it.

    The Namurr E/M Template is also a beast in certain circumstances, like when facing a big nasty HI or TAG. You can almost always survive the return fire due to Total Immunity and NWI and just drop the template on them, turning an expensive piece of kit into a paperweight.

    IF the enemy fails the BTS roll. Which isn't something certain.
    TBH E/Marat on Namurr is one of the most interesting things for me. It gives you a chance to immobilize some tough enemy, like TAG, Achilles et cetera. And then with a bit of luck finish them with D-Charges. That's a nice mix.
    And sure, Namurr will propably survive the first try to E/Marat enemy. But if he passes the BTS roll than it's harder.

    I like that the mix of E/Marat and D-Charges makes Namurr a bit scary for tougher enemies, but still the 38pts tax for the cheaper one is big. With only BS12, only Rifle + Light Shotgun as main weapons, only 3BTS, only 14 WIP. And no Mimetism, no Veteran, no I-Kohl.
    Total Immunity looks nice, but 3BTS doesn't make my mojo running. Karakuris have 6 BTW, 2 wounds and a better specialist option - FO is much more helpful.

    It's not like I don't see her potential, I do.
    It's just that I played over a dozen games using Ramah and still didn't fit her into any armylist. I'll propably try her someday, it's just that between the rather not so cheap RTF units Namurrs doesn't seem to be so much better than the ones I use.

    Still it's nice to discuss about her with you, guys :)

    i think the namuur really shines if you take the jannisar core link because she can fill up the spot that your aro missile launcher took and roll out with the squad
    and if the aro guy survives well she can operate on her own pretty well

    Honestly thats exactly how i play her but with a ghulam link instead. Ghulam missile usually doesnt last past turn 1 so she rolls out with the link.

    The namurr is a wonderfully complete kit in my opinion, my experience with her is limited but i have experienced some great moments where her last orders after getting some good work done is to scamper up to a rooftop and drop prone. Without your own c+ or super jump many rooftop positions demand you eat her emarat just to join her on the roof, or if youre a flimsy model just an unopposed gunshot

    Shes a model where i think her value is loaded into troubleshooting problems on a table mid game. As opposed to say a mukhtar whos value is a very strong efficient gunfighter and his worth is very apparant for his role without needing to play him to experience it

    No. Either all of them should pay for their additional order or none. Now good TAGs are even better and crappy are almost the same as before.

    I doubt 4 points would've changed anything in that regard. Trivial amount of points is not what makes some okay and others - not so much.

    But then again, in most armies TAGs don't compete with each other, and stuffing an extra order into your CG is at least a consideration - provided your army was already flexible enough to fit TAGs.

    On the other hand, it's not like things like Sphynx had problems with getting somewhere and murdering stuff before. So I kinda dislike generalized approach, and not just because of fluff reasons.

    From a quick glance, it looks to be the only cheap TAGs that went up in points for tactical awareness. This makes a lot of sense to me, given the primary complaints about TAGs.

    Does anyone have any ideas for how to use Wild Bill? My first thought was a core team of Tarik, Bill, a Namurr, and two Hortlak snipers. The Hortlaks can post up for AROs with a 5-man bonus, but drop out of the team so the others can move out, all with 6-X movement, a specialist, and good coverage of range bands out to 24. Of course, coming in at 190-202, this could only really be used in a single combat group list.

    I havent run any numbers but bill seems like he can absolutely own that super close rangeband for a fireteam. Good bs + marksmanship L2 + burst 3 fatality 1 DA+shock shots from the multi pistol in a fire team.

    He can also impersonate a smg, but better in the burst fire mode since he gets shock inherently and can choose AP every time

    Realistically he also lowers the cost of the jan osin train as hes cheaper than hortlaks and much cheaper than jans

    After four matches with Ramah, I have yo say that I'm very satisfied with the results, three victories and one draw againt very good players from my city. But its also true that all were friendly matches. Next week is my first try in official tournament, lets see how its goes.

    So far I'm really enjoying having so Manu new toys to match and mix, doing Ramah list is really fun

    She dodges mines and chain rifles like mad, she is fast, she scores objectives very reliably. I played against her in a Ghulam link with Tarik and I gotta say she's the main reason my opponent managed to win that Supremacy game at the end of the day.
