What if I told you we already have the technology? (see: Gaurda de assualto) In addition to more auxbots id also really like to see our remote line expanded! maybe something akin to the Rudras? Pano's got the money....
Yeah but isn't the GdA in ACA? Lol. That's the unit I was thinking of when I mentioned ACA. More remotes could be awesome. I love the aesthetic of remotes in this game.
Yeah, and vanilla aswell. I would really like more eclipse in vanilla or exclusive to vanilla – give me a really good incentive to play them over one of our sectorials.
How's about we just get rid of the silly idea that PanO shouldnt use smoke? Put a smoke lgl on a rem with decent BS to synergize with other units like nisse. This way it's not a warband giving out free smoke throws, but something you have to invest in its usage.
I've got no issue with missing out on Smoke, Hexa's cheap enough to be reserved for an objective run under marker and we have other ways of picking up big mods. I do wish that we got more "high-tech" replacements for it instead of an arbitrary exclusion though, Smoke does a lot in Infinity and it feels like PanO High Command has a personal vendetta against it. Maybe it's damaging to the environment? My idea for a PanO Smoke replacement would actually be an UPGRADE Hacking Program that places the Smoke template as Supportware. Inherently difficult to spam, shares space with REM buffs, relies on Glorious PanO WIP, High-Tech.
I've always wanted a Pathfinder option for 18 points with an ability called Smokescreen that'd be Disposable (2) that could plant the template directly over it with no roll. It could also use it for Special Dodge but it'd take the standard remote -3. However I've said in the past that I am over ever getting smoke and we should just work on navigating the game without it. I also expect smoke will be globally reigned in for N4 so our complaints will be indirectly granted.
This would be super cool. I'd also love an Auxbot with this option, where it can do the same but can't move for the rest of the turn. It'd be neat. Agreed on Smoke being likely to be reigned in, though. I love the utility that it adds, but it's a bit too common at times.
Why antagonise for no reason? If you disagree make a point. This isn't twitter for short replies and reaction gif tier low effort
While I agree with your sentiment, you are kind of doing the same thing here. The conversation has since moved in a much more constructive direction. Why would you try to reopen an argument from 20 days ago?
You know what I most want to see from N4? Resculpts. Our Support Box, Remotes and many other essential core force options remain stubbornly pre-3D sculpting. (well, that and for the moderators to actually delete all the irrelevant crap from threads especially like this one)
Whilst he stopped short of telling us anything, when Bostria was asked about a PanO support box at Gen Con he implied N4 would solve the ancient support box problem in some way.
I'm sure it was mentioned in this thread already but Carlos made it seem like something new was happening with support boxes in N4. He didn't want to give an answer when it was asked if we would see a resculpt any time soon. Whether they generalize them for all factions or certain factions share them, ect ect remains to be seen, but I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon. Remotes I'm okay with. they look fine.
Yeah, I know. And I'm glad to see it. But I just want to reinforce that it's one of the key things I'm looking for. (that and I'm getting REALLY sick of all the petty side arguments derailing our threads and want to bring this one back onto actually discussing N4)
Here's my ASA wishlist. Regulars: drop the FO tax, it’s an N2 relic. As long as FO is properly changed, there’s no reason to keep the tax (there’s barely a reason now). Kirpal Singh: Singh’s CoC is a waste of 5 points because of a rule change from N2 to N3 that affected the timing of CoC w/ AD. Hopefully the 4th Edition can fix this, or Kirpal can become a full fledged AD CC unit. If you’re an Acon player and you want to hate yourself for a bit, look at Kirpal and then look at the character Delta. He’s also pretty bloated, but he can actually CC and gets D-Charges to do the mission. There is never a reason to take Kirpal in vanilla or Acon. Stephen Rao: Combi + Assault Pistol tax, and nothing that really makes him any better than a combi Bagh-Mari. He really just needs a rework. Usually characters bring something interesting or unique to their base profile (and again, looking at the Delta character, it’s clear CB wants to go even further with this one) but Rao is just so damn bland. Guarda: I want to like him, as he’s really representative of PanO as a whole, but the Auxbot is just so damn unreliable. Also new sculpt plz CB, the current one is bad. Altogether I feel like Shock Army is in a great place, but all of those would just be nice QoL changes.
That's how long it took me to revisit the forums and then seeing something early on made me want to respond. Now I remember why the forums aren't exactly a helpful tool for the game
