"So they start to fold quickly when you crack the armor" so to speak?

In my experience, even though they have amazing defense, they are not that good at attacking you (unless you are not expecting a Cutter and end up losing all your stuff to it) and most of their troops are kinda squishy (except for Orcs and Montesa Biker). They can field a Bulleteer or two and get to your backline that way as well, but it's not that reliable.

So, I guess what I'm triying to say is "they can't kill you that well"? Which doesn't sound like much of a weakness now that I say it out loud...

I get that. I understand that's just the way the game works and shaking it up enough that pure-HI actually works is going to cause so many other problems. Doesn't mean that I don't get that little emotional low from putting the generic light infantry dude/ttes in my lists.

It's the difference between intellectually understanding a thing and the emotional 'feel' of it.

It's the marker itself that's the issue. Yes, Neurocinetics and a Fire weapon will make the Helots potentially deadly, but mostly it's the Marker that you can't Discover without leaving your own Camo state and that you know is more than willing to break Camo and start taking potshots if you turn out to be juicy enough.

Yeah, I'd be surprised to see more than two HI in any Varuna list. And if they're taking the HI, you can bet they don't have a Cutter, VIRD models are too expensive for 80pts of HI and 115pts of Cutter, or even 80pts of HI and ~95pts of Squalo.

I often see three Orcs in Varuna. One Feuerbach in the Core and a Patsy and a HMG in the Haris. Often the HMG in the Haris is replaced with a Kamau HMG, though.

Buuuut.... we're back at Varuna again. At least it's not about the damned sniper this time...

How do people run Haris Zuyong?
Is it really worth losing the full core link bonuses to ensure you don’t have all your eggs in one basket?

What I typically want from a Zuyong Fireteam is a) Deflector and b) Sixth Sense. The +3 BS is nice, but not entirely necessary. If I could get a Shang-Ji AHD to have Sixth Sense, I'd run Zuyong Haris a lot more. Edit: Haris, not Core

I dont understand. Are you asking for the AHD profile to also have the Skill Sixth Sense? Why is the Sixth Sense L2 bonus from the 5 man link not sufficient?

I wrote the wrong Fireteam name, I meant "run Zuyong Haris more" :)

Haris HMG is totally fine and robust, but they got their own limits. Don't YOLO into major ARO pieces.

That was a list made in jest. I did put the warcor in there to convert the irregular order into a normal order since this list only has 9 orders.

Been awaiting the ITS changes bring confirmed from the draft and glad to see that tac aware tags are a thing.
Have been assembling and batch painting and this is the kind of thing I'm looking at getting down.
    Thoughts?

Maybe put the Haidao KHD into the Haris, so he can benefit from the TinBot and keep the Pangguling in the Zhanshi Core.

    Definitely!

    KHD+Tinbot makes for a very hard-to-hack fireteam.

The TAG update in ITS XI lead to me messing around with some IA stuff in the list builder, which ultimately lead to the natural conclusion of dropping the Guijia because I still think it's uncompetitive in IA. That said, I did also end up moving my sights towards the unit in IA that serves to invalidate the Guijia most, the Mowang, and ended up coming up with this little thing.

Not going to lie, it's a pretty lean cut, but you're looking at an 18 order list that can hopefully put its eggs in a fair few baskets.
