    Hi All,

I'm rolling Haqq in our upcoming league for the first time, and I have a question for you salty vanilla vets.

Do you ever field Muyibs, or the spitfire load out in particular?

At a glance, he looks like a decent defensive piece to throw into a coordinated suppression move, but I'm curious as to what you all think.

    Thanks

The profiles that really stick out to me for vanilla are the heavy rocket launcher and the minelayers. The HRL profile makes a pretty decent ARO piece since it has dogged, and more importantly the template can help you deal with link teams. I like the minelayer profiles (especially the antipersonnel/ e-mauler one) because, well, minelayer is good, and the D.E.P. gives them some punch.

The spitfire isn't bad, but in vanilla it doesn't really seem all that interesting to me. I think there are better solo spitfire carriers in that price bracket.

EDIT: Probably the most interesting thing about it is the X-Visor, which can be a pretty big deal. So, weigh how much you value those and how much you think it will come into your plan as part of your decision making process.

I used to deploy HRL for midrange aro with a good results, but nowadays i would prolly stick with the Sekban or Hafza.
Also LT with LGL is a pricey but a nice option for the smoke, especially if you are willing to use the LT order recklessly.
Emauler minelayer is ok, for early flank protection from HI.

I don't even try muybis in vanilla.

if you want minelayer you got libertos. if you want spitfire just put the kawarij. If you want HRL put kawarij too or hafza.

muyib is just usefull in a HB insite a link.

I used Muyib HRL in Vanilla - he's cheap both in pts and in SWC. That and V:Dogged gives him an advantage vs Hafza or other HRLs. Nice option for ARO duty.
The minelayers are also interesting, especially our only E-mauler minelayer, yet the cost isn't helpful.

I've used Muyib in "vanilla" play from time to time. More awhile back when they were more of my collection. Now they've sorta faded a bit.

I've used the Muyib with rifle and grenade launcher. You get both *boom* and smoke together. It's also a lieutenant option if you're into that sort of thing.

I've used the Muyib with rifle, shotgun, panzerfaust, pistol, knife... oh and d-charges. Also a lieutenant option, and/or a walking arsenal for a variety of problems looking for a solution. Pity they aren't classified as veterans with this season's classified deck.

I've used the Muyib with the heavy rocket launcher. Primarily as a hang out to die ARO piece. The v:dogged option means they have to devote a slightly bigger gun to ensure it's immediate removal or risk using yet another order to get rid of it. Also with the visor you can land that template on a 9 or less even if they have cover and mimetism. I don't really hope to win a proper attempt at snuffing it out, just that his friends will stand back a ways and take another order to get themselves organized.

d-charges also gives you a backup in case some other d-charge model bites it putting the charge in place.

The X-Visor doesn't interact with either cover or mimetism in any way. Unless you are already in your +3 range, you are only landing the template on 6 or less.

You are correct. Teach me to spout off without double checking. My old value was vs just cover.

I field the LGL myuib pretty regularly (often as the Lt if I’m not running Saladin) and he consistently delivers. With the more dynamic msv2 shooters from the RTF guys I’ve found having better reach and control with smoke to be pretty valuable and being able to utilize your Lt order makes it even better. Plus the potential to specfire templates on people is a good tool to have.

Personally, despite thinking the HRL is a solid profile, I usually find he can’t outcompete the Hafza HRL in vanilla. I’d rather save the 4 points than 0.5 SWC and gain the power of holo1 tricks.
