Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if they were left in N3 come summer 2020

Which is unfortunate, because they're an interesting unit. It's too bad the whole "they can't be in fireteams" part slows them down so much.

Eh, and the ancient miniatures and being stuck in an ancient sectorial.....

They are a neat unit though!

Nah, they’ll get six different types of Auxbots and 10 man Fireteams.

    Yes and no.

I love the concept of them, I hate that they're a unit that CB doesn't seem to know what the hell to do with and have left to rot. There have been so many damned good ideas passed down over the years relating to them(opening them up to have more Specialists ala the Order-Sergeants, giving them more Auxbot options that add flexibility to the Auxilia themselves, etc) that you'd think just once they would have said "Holy crap, they did all the work for us concepting this--we just have to do the playtesting".

They're a unit that practically screamed "HEY THIS CAN BE WHERE THE MOTORCYCLE UNIT WE WANT TO SHOVE DOWN PEOPLE'S THROAT CAN BE ADDED NOW". They're a unit that people have kept arguing with me over the years about "tHeY'rE rEaLLy jUsT cOps, CHILL!!!1!!".

For a rapid deployment unit that can operate independently, the Auxilia would have made perfect sense for the motorcycle option. A bit of a bigger bike than most, but the Auxbot could have been stored on the bike itself and 'detached' when the rider gets there. Basically would have been a PanO version of the Zondnautica.

I know Kan, you're always the first in line to defend the poor auxilia.
I agree with you for the most part aswell, even in their current state - theyre almost really playable units. Unfortunately for me, they lack the ava to be useful in Vanilla and lack the options to be take-able in NCA. I think your bike idea would be really neat, but probably a little too close to the zondnautica.

Besides, I think PanO is lucky we got a bike at all – it would never be a cheap one with a template.

Who cares if it's "too close to the Zondnautica"?

So much of the game's profiles at this point are "too close" to X/Y/Z unit if you look at them.

Sort of, there is a lot of overlap in a lot of the more general units but theres very little in the more specialized or flavored units – which I would lump the Zondnautica into.

The Auxilia is such a cool unit. Even if the CSU is technically better in NCA, I find it hard not to just run the Auxilia.

That's funny because I was hoping they wouldn't invalidate the mini they released, but maybe at least one of us can come out of this happy.

Problem is, a fast Auxbot-wielder on an S4 base in PanO is already available in the "Peacemaker". Auxilia work well as infantry, they just need a little more spice and some rules-fixing to make them fantastic again.

I don't care what happens with the Montessa, both iterations seem fine, but CB seem to dislike changing things usually so I doubt they will touch it again.

They literally just need to add a Spitfire option, you'll want to dismount often enough to justify a dismounted Spitfire model...

    Right?

But, on the whole question of "will they walk back the change"?

    No.

They are not going to walk back the change.

    I say it's 0% likely.

Going back just a bit to reply to this post, lol.

To be fair to the Auxilia, they have the utility of being able to send the Bot around a corner to trip mines or suicide-charge someone without losing the order generator. I've also put them on Suppressive after that, which is nice. It's just hard to compete with CSU in NCA, who are 3 points cheaper. It's a choice between affording a Palbot or the Auxbot, mostly, plus being able to tweak points a bit.

Yeah they're not like the worst unit ever – they have their niche. they're just kind of like a triangle shaped gear when you're trying to put your NCA machine together. You can make them work and I'm sure they'll run perfectly fine – but is it optimized? probably not. The Old miniatures don't help either.

As far as Template holder goes – the CSU is better and linkable!
as a cheerleader – they're just slightly too expensive
Want a mid-board template closing off an alleyway or door – take a peacemaker!
Cheapo LT – Fusilier's got you covered, and he costs 0 SWC

I feel like you're kinda underrating the utility of G: Sync, though. It has come in handy so many times for me. Agreed that the CSU linkability makes them a far better cheerleader/support unit, though. I wish the Auxilia LT didn't have the SWC, at least. Such a weird design choice.

Should Auxilia discussion go in a new thread, or is it fine with everyone to keep it here? It's a pretty big subject, lol.

Eh, this thread has about run it's course – I'm not sure many here actually want to discuss the possibility of them changing the Montessa again.....

I like G:Sync, It's really really useful having a throw away piece like that. The Peacemaker is a way better platform for it though – possibility of B2, Midfield repeater, ect ect.

I'd like the auxilia to get options of different Auxbots. Choose a Auxilia profile and combine it with what kind of bot you want

Right, but the peacemaker is 6-7 points more than the Auxilia, depending on which Aux profile you pick. Plus it isn't a specialist.

The rest of your points are pretty true, though. The Peacemaker is a hell of a unit, and I'm surprised to not see it being run very often.
