Thanks! Actually I had to modify original badge design since it destroyed my chair by being an unreadable mess after all effort. =D I hope that forum attachments finaly working. So here are bottles I've used: And if you or someone else interested in how to: White undercoat, then semi-opaque turqoise coat. After that I've mixed turqoise with that toxic yellow green and started to rotate semi-transparent layers of white and this mix (probably used glaze of pure yellow green at the end). And when i was finishing mini I decided to add some glazes of flat yellow and white.
Yeah the original logo is way too busy to reproduce frehan in miniature form. Your simplification works really well and is still recognisable as the Section 9 logo. Good work, I may "borrow" it in future ;-)
Some updates here! Painted my Saito Togan: Spoiler: More photos of dishonored guy That strange feeling when you finished mini and next day evil CB taking away that juicy profile from your army. Coincidence? Don't think so.
I like the mood of the miniature very much. Smooth warm tone and excellent reflection on the blade! Looks like a painting.
https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/saito-army-glitch.27742/ there is a topic about it and Saito may be just an error any way nice one and you changed pose from awkward to less strange ..
Thanks for feedback guys, and glad you like him! I've tried to depict sunrise with that reflection and overall hue. Hope it's recognizable. Ye, I hope that's error. Don't wanna use him just as looting and sabotaging mandatory. Not my idea actually. Saw someone did it and it was like enlightenment. =) Just added head, hair and saia reposition for better composition. Actually, except for the pose, I think that this is very awesome model. Had much fun painting him. But oriiginal pose is like wtf and why he do it...
Yeah the model is not so bad it's just that the pose is, as you quite eloquently put it, WTF? Also the studio colours are kind meh, and your choice of colours is way way better!
Time to update with stuff I've painted. I'll start with some SWC Keisotsu: Spoiler: More pics of Keisotsu ML Spoiler: More pics of Keisotsu hacker More minis soon.
ok there is somrerthing realy interesting with pants - have you made ther a stypling pattern to create texture on them ?? o and i like th e faces good job bases are darn empty and boring
Just layering with few shades of stipples. Thanks! Yea, wanted to build all of my DZ-dwellers as fast as possible to start play games. Once it came to painting I've also thought that adding anyting to this bases could distract attention from figures since scheme is achromatic/desaturated. Next pair of painted minis. Couldn't force myself to paint original mini of tokusetsu kohei so converted it from Comm Tech: Spoiler: More pics of kohei Best hmg option in army and good aro piece - humble TR-bot: Spoiler: More pics of TR-bot
Very nice minis! I like them a lot :) You could use clear bases if u don't plan to do much to them. That way it will look good no mather on what underground you game. Anyways, keep up the good work!
Thanks, glad you like them! I've thought about clear bases some time ago, but wasn't sold on that idea. Thing is that pins and magnets will be visible in that case making it a mess. Also in my opinion this kind of bases requires to be cohesive through the whole army, but I'm actually like to build bases, just keeping it for my favorite minis since it's time consuming process.
I think the 'plain' bases are fine. They look like someone standing on asphalt streets, so you could add some street markings to give some splashes of color.
Yep, for me they are definetely fine. And yes, it was intended to be an asphalt streets. So I'll consider your suggestion, just have to think on exact colour of markings. Not sure that default white wouldn't be too high on contrast. Hm, maybe good layer of dust and dirt over them? Well, last and most recent couple of painted minis incoming. Shinobu Kitsune. Had rather wild ingame experience with her. Either she fail infiltrarion roll or got deleted in first cc f2f. And I'm clever enough to not get her in cc with other martial arts specialists... I just hope that "painted plays better" not just a words, but a cosmic spell of some sort. And painting her actualy was so fun for me that I finished it in just 3 consecutive evenings. And then the great sexual experience of first time still water imitation begun... I'm just glad I've did some tests before trying anyting on mini. Spoiler: More pics of Shinobu And my last work - Karakuri with heavy shotgun. One step closer to that shiny haris. I've changed her pose and gave a new hairdo for what I consider to be a better look. Spoiler: More pics of Karakuri
What I did for mine was some washes of oily and muddy colors. P3 Armor Wash for the oily color (it's a blue-black), and I forget what I used for the muddy color. GW's Devlan Mud, probably.
