Mukhtar Namurr Hortlak Janissaries (Nahab only got NWI, but worth mentioning as it gets compared to the state of the Liu Xing a lot) Before IA, I can only recall it being on the Vet Kazak as it itself occupied a similar role to YJ's discount HI, Yadus because CB probably started to realize that being actual HI is a liability, and Dart because OP. And of those three, only the Vet Kazak has actually been around for more than a year. For the greater part of a decade, it was just the Vet Kazak. The explosion of these types of units is a very recent thing. Since the drop of IA, it has become drastically more common.
I say that CB's done a good job when CB's done a good job. I'm going to continue to call out what goes wrong, however. I know that frustrates you, because you think that your association with CB means that you should have the social capital that I should act subservient to you, but I'm not feeling it...
So wait, are we talking about characters always getting OP skills. Or CB giving out NWI+shock imm like candy? I'm confused here?
TAK, OSS, IA, and Varuna all came out together in the November 2018 update. Vassily is another original RPG character belonging to CB staff that came out at the same time, let's see if he has NWI and Shock Immunity...
Well, whatever. The point is that IA used NWI + Shock Immunity to ameliorate costs in the points formula, then it started getting passed around willy-nilly after that.
That's about as easy to remember as "Crits auto-wound", so that's good design. Would need some expansion as to what happens with various ammo types, of course. Definitely. Uhm, you know that the reason EXP does one auto-wound and 2 saves is because EXP naturally does 3 saves on a hit, right? With the other option being EXP does 3x auto-wounds. So you'd still have some rule saying EXP does something potentially-weird, even if the standard was Crits force a save at DAM20. And EM is always going to be weird, because it does both that EM hit on BTS and a normal wound against ARM. So, Crits get AP? That's a pretty big nerf to the crit mechanic. Yup. My issue is not with crits per se, it is with Fatality L2 (and any other mechanic that manipulates the crit chances, really). Bostria a YJ fanboi? The same Bostria that said "you know [ an Aristeia character patterned after a Taoist Sorceror ] was evil because he's from YJ?" Say what?!?
Hecaton: CB fanboys on characters and gives them OP skills. Also Hecaton: Look at all these ramah profiles with the same skills CB gave to this OP character I got it. You can't hold a straight line of thought. Or prove a point.
Basically, CB need to stop writing the game in Spanish and then translating it, poorly. I don't care about the wonky lingo in the fluff, but it's something that completely kills the legibility and interpretation of the ruleset. I beg you Bostria, hire somebody that will both a capable English editor, able to coordinate with the game designers, who will help you clean up this linguistic, technical mess you got here. I love your game, but it's really hard to see it from behind the piss poor editing.
Yeah at this point these cross purposes here. I'm not disagreeing that NWI+shock IMM is becoming increasingly common. Or is stupid. Its a blatant move to avoid being hackable on certain profiles and its becoming annoying. I hope CB fixes hackable in N4 so they stop avoiding it so much or it makes sens when they do. The original point was Cuervo was somehow getting unusually awesome skills because hes a character or some CB fanboy. Where-as all we're seeing is hes just part of a normal trend in new profiles and SHOCK HORROR seems to have nothing to do with the assertion that CB somehow fanboys over characters.
No surprise you'd consider a sober assessment of the rules bad faith. "But... but... they can't criticize CB! They're not part of the clique!"
Yes, "PanO was a mistake" Bostria frequently describes YJ as his favourite faction in person and during seminars.
NWI+shock immunity is giving a unit power armor but not on the level of traditional HI power armor. Its a way of curbing a flooding of 2 wound units in a faction, the same way FWD Deployment more often than Infiltration on new camo units.
