The bot would be 6-4 climbing plus and can be buffed. Lunah is religious, limited camo, and has stealth. There is a lot of difference here.
That reminds me, I actually was thinking about AD earlier and how much better it is to simply walk on, even with ITSX's pinpoint drop. As a thought experiment, how do you think metas would shake out if AD were rebalanced to automatically succeed if unopposed, with FtF at WIP vs Phys if your opponent tries to Hack Transport? In this hypothetical, would you take more drop troops, more hackers, or both? How much of an advantage would armies with pitcher equipped killer hackers have? Would assault hackers with marker state be more viable? Would the Liu Xing suddenly get really really really good?
Liu Xing's flaw is that it needs to find a spot clear of Hackers. Unfortunately, I don't see this flaw going away unless Oblivion goes away, since even if you bumped Liu Xing up to BTS 6 and gave it a Deflector B (it's a fairly low cost upgrade), Oblivion still has sufficient damage and consequence that it's too risky.
With all of China`s martial arts traditions, Yu Jing really should get something to replace the Oniwaban. A MA5, TO Camo Infiltrating special character (like the Wuxia tradition, or some other qi using, roof jumping, warrior), would be really nice :). + 1 for the upgrading of Shang Ji, Pheasant, Hulong and Bao Troops - too few uses for them right now. Yan Huo`s could also use a bit of an update - with the advent of the new wave of S5 HI`s, they are no longer such a cool choice right now.
The whole point of the uprising was to dissociate Yu-jing from this "melee faction" fallacy, so I doubt we'll see this level of martial artists in yu-jing anytime soon.
Unless you're dead sure it's an LT it's not really worth getting a 32+ point model killed by an opponent who understands that they should position it so it's covered by some kind of defense. Not to mention it's pretty common for Nomads to have more than 1 hacker, like Mary Problems. (also if you don't go first good luck dropping on a Cybermasked Interventor) Assuming by "whack that interventor" you're suggesting you drop on top of it.
Then why do we still pay the CC tax that have no business ever using it? That said, I don't want MA5 on any "oniwaban replacement" unit either. But that has more to do with it being costly and useless.
Just floating this as an idea, but... Considering the function and the functionality of the Hulang, it's severely missing a lot and desperately needs other skills, but at the same time it needs to not completely remove Zhencha. Also, Hulang has no mobility tech in spite of being a pseudo-HI. What if, and yes this is pure wishlisting: 1. Remove Fireteam. Possibly remove Specialist Operative as well 2. Drop AVA to 1. 3. IA Exclusive: NCO (or, to give the CoC profiles some workout and do some serious LT shenaniganery, LT2 option) 4. Improve Mimetism to actual real Camo. 5. Climbing+ -> This should land the Combi profile to about 50 in cost, prior to any other N4 cost alterations, provided there's no HI penalty applied on Camo. Would it replace the Zhencha? Not necessarily. It's disguising itself as a Zhencha until it reveals, taking advantage of the fact that Zhenchas like to get close. Instead, see it as a Zhencha upgrade, have two or three camo markers up field, each one moving with climbing, only possibly one of them is capable of deleting most units in melee (with 44% chance to delete even Achilles using Surprise Attack...). To be most effective, the Hulang would require Zhencha, not replace them. P.s. and yes, this is sort of what I mean with "oniwaban replacement" - but it's kind of thinking outside the box when it comes to Hidden Deployment
Yes! We have a Fu Lion, now a Fu Dog! that would be awesome! And this guy as a character please! Guan Yu.
Maybe make it Mimetism + Limited Camo as well to differentiate it further form the Zhencha and make it more of a commitment to decamo and engage.
No, you can check out Daofei point cost and realize that what you are proposing is a straight upgrade trading multi rifle, some PH and 1 point of BS for a much more expensive gear and skills package. High 50s at least
Hmm... cross checking Daofei... PH 14... stacking ouch... Infiltration and Camo is expensive... BS 13 usually has stacking... ARM 4 versus 3, yeah that's expensive... Multi Rifle easily covers the Hulang's extra weapons, possibly even including the CCW... So reverse-engineering from a Daofei and applying roughly what I've estimated a Ninja's melee abilities to cost, I'd say I'm actually over-estimating the price by a bit. Additionally, currently it also seems like Hulang isn't saving points on NWI+Shock Immunity, which would bring down the relative cost compared to Daofei even more.
No it wasn't. There was no consideration for the mechanical consequences. The goal of Uprising was to sell the JSA box.
Frontload the Hulang's movement into 6-2. You get the long cautious moves, high jumps and long climbs, and have a little extra movement to get into good SMG/EMnade range. Smoke not withstanding, that's probably all they really need.
I really, REALLY doubt they need to do anything special to sell JSA models. The JSA range is one of their best sellers!
Since it's been said that each faction has a "base" profile and the formula gets applied on top of that, Yu Jing's needs to be revisited. Having a CC tax was bad in N1 and it's still bad now. Giving a zanshi +1 or 2 CC over an alguacile is fine for fluffy reasons, but it shouldn't cost any points. There is no appreciable in game differnece between CC 13 and 14. Maybe try and find another cheap skill to slap on the zanshi for fun if you don't want them to be identical to alguaciles. As an aside, I don't see why CB wants their magic formula hidden. Will we find out that some units have been manually adjusted?
If this claim came from me, then that's not quite what I wrote. I actually (indirectly) wrote that many old Yu Jing units seem to be made (indirectly or directly) from Nomad units. Take an Moderator and apply the designated Yu Jing stat of +1 CC and you get Keisotsu! Keisotsu has higher stats than Moderator and must therefore be more expensive, no regard for which stat given. I would say that the basic profiles need to be recreated using the points formula exclusively with no regard for other armies profiles.
