My Wishlist for Bakunin (despite it's the greatest Faction of all) is: all the single wound units of the observance above 30 points should get at least shock immunity or a significant price reduction (as HOD already mentioned). Kusanagi has to get Bioimmunity. Haris for Rev. Moiras. either phase out the AHD Moira or make her cheaper as well, with the SMG treatment perhaps? general mix n' match Fireteams for all the Reverends Rev. Custodier BSG (HD+) should be another Lt. option. reduction of the Prowlers' SWC by 0.5 (Spitfire 1.5 SWC / Specialist 0 SWC) reduction of the Meteor Zond's SWC to 0 BTS FOR ZOE, GODDAMMIT! maybe a special Haris for the Taskmaster. With two Moderators, not two Taskmasters! Moderator Hacker should get an SMG, I want the Human Sphere's cheapest normal Hacker back ;) Bakunin exclusive Lunokhod with FD2 If only the Tsyklon gets Sectorial goodies, then give it CH: Mimetism or Albedo In general Cybemines should be used to mine the cyberspace (= own or enemy hacking area) not like the current things. Then I'd like to see some Minelayers with them and repeaters ;) Contrary to the Sin-Eater the Intruder can gain such a high MOD difference that there's no need for shock immunity on this unit. Normally it faces enemies during it's active turn where the player can choose the opponent's units to attack which also have reduced burst. I'm in line with you here. And the main reason for an immunity for the Sin-Eater is he always has to face the enemy's full burst at the enemy's choice.
Oh yeah, one thing, characters in Nomad are a bit too meh... I am not well versed in the fluff but it feels like we don't play with top dogs of our space ships. The other human sphere factions give more that feel. Kusanagi is a bit there. Take TJC for instance. What do we have? A super hacker and a rogue AI. Feels like the boss is hiding. Once again I don't know much about the lore, but a character that gives +1 SWC and strategos or lieutenant on a securitate type of profile (a bit like Saladin) could be a nice touch
Give Fatality Lvl2 to SinEaters (Lvl1 does nothing to them, really) without increasing the costs. And Ghost: Jumper Level Z would fit the fluff of Tunguska nicely, if more REMs were linkable.
They have more armor, BS and Mimetism. But at the same time only 1W with no immunities and cost 2 SWC compared to a fast Climbing Plus TR Drone for 1 SWC and less points who can be an attack piece if needed and buffed by Supportware. In close to 100 matches only one time I have faced a Sin-Eater.
I find that coming up with specifics for how a unit should change stops making sense in the context of post edition change. For example Sin Eater might make a lot more sense if Fireteams stop ignoring smoke trick, and in return smoke trick is weaker.
The sin-eater is not bad with the Bravery rule; .its learning play with neurocinetics that is the challenge, as moving in the active turn is more restrictive. its a give that your opponent is likely to throw their best shot at it.
I live nomads. I feel Bakunin could use a change. I like them because they feel like they attack the problems sideways and it's very frustrating when a long series of die rolls or misplaced smoke template can lose to the dozenth linked ml and MSV2 sniper combo. Fewer repeatable 'cheese' combos and more emergent decision making please.
Bravery is the Season 10 rule which gives FD1 to all medium infantry. Which is great on the Spitfire/Mk.12 Sin Eater. You are thinking of Courage.
Honestly, the easiest fix for Sin-Eaters is to make their HMG cost .5 SWC less. But I do think a Moira link team should be able to include up to 1 Custodier, and the Custodier Haris could include Moiras/healers. Basically, the "Reverend" units should be more dynamic in how they can link.
Yes, sorry. I play in spanish (english is my 3rd language), so it was a false friend to me. Thanks for the clarification
Rework Hacking to make it more worthwhile to do other things than just Supportware and Killer hack. It's a lot of complexity for not enough gameplay value right now outside of those things. For example if you could interact with scenery elements / objectives (le open doors in hacking area / do WIP roll objectives in ZOC) or download 'wetware' (give a unit in hacking area a skill like climbing+ for a turn) it would make hacking more fun and interesting. Right now a lot of the best Nomads lists don't even have hackers outside KHD's, and that's a shame IMHO. Hacking feels like it should be a central part of their aesthetic Rework or recost Medium Infantry to be more worthwhile / have a better role (IMHO 4-2 move MI should get Shock Immunity for free, and ARM below 5 or so should cost less). This would fix a lot of under used units in Nomads (Wildcats / Moiras etc) Modernise Bakunin like other sectorials. Make all Reverends interchangable in fireteams, make Moderators more workable (mixed fireteam and / or some more recent equipment like stun/IMM DTWs to reflect their role as riot cop militia), rework other little used profiles (eg Prowler) etc. Basically those 3 would fix a lot of Nomad inbalances (and broader inbalances in the game too).
You can do other things, its just too easy for people to opt out and not give you viable targets. which is more of a problem everything else than hacking. also regarding complexity, it's not that complex ti's just the layout is obscenely poor, and I've more people just don't bother past that. I keep seeing people say BJC is the most powerful sectorial we have. Which I'm curious is it purely because the Riot Grrl core exists? Past that I've often found I'm just playing a strictly worse vanilla.
Yeah I dont think Bakunin is the strongest way to play Nomads (and Ive only seen 1 person say that), though Riot Grrls are still extremely solid more or less the rest of the sectorial fireteams could really use an update like many others have had IMHO.
Its something that has popped up at least twice in this thread and I see it every now and then, and was more curious as to why people thought so and if it was entirely due to Riot Grrls.
