Is it allowed to deploy climbing if you have climbing plus? If yes, is it allowed to units which don't have this skill? Thank you
Nice, thank you! So, Zeta can be a hard target to assassinate on the proper table! One thing to suggest for our beginners.
You can gain total cover in shorter scenography, but the Zeta can't benefit from cover while climbing, so it can be a two edged sword.
The idea here is to deploy in total cover to the enemy shooters, while a Speculo can't instakill it XD EDIT: Remember to bring the Monstrucker. An engineer with Climbing Plus might be needed to reachan Unconscious TAG in Climbing state XD
Yes, the idea was more to prevent some CC killer with a monoblade to reach BtB contact and be able to kill the shiny robot. Of course, a Shikami is impervious to such tactic but he will need to run throught the whole table. I'd be more concerned by a chimera and her pupniks.
You'd have to find a wall that's more than 95cm high to prevent a Speculo from entering melee, though, since Base to Base has been clarified to mean Silhouette to Silhouette in this case. Most scenery walls are 2 to 3 inches, which is far too low.
What makes you think I'm talking about a wall by itself? I'm saying the number of good walls to use this tactic on an S7 trooper is going to be fairly limited when you take into account that you're opening yourself up to ranged attacks using it. Also I'm not aware of any Engineers that can repair the Zeta in such a position.
Except the walls that have the previous story's roof directly underneath it and 25+cm wide (basically the fairly common smaller building stacked on top of a wider building), or walls that makes the Zeta deploy outside the Deployment Zone (67cm perpendicularly close to the zone limit) which has the practical effect of making finding a good spot for protecting your Zeta like so fairly difficult. Especially considering how climbing models have a harder time finding a good facing (not only having to be mindful of left or right, but also above or below), you can easily make your attempt to cleverly get away from a Speculo result in a Noctifier having a field day, shooting it from "behind"
While that did conjour up a rather hilarious image of a sphinx with trollface clinging to the side of a building while a Fiday sits there scratching his head, it's completely unnecessary since they can hide in plain sight ;).
