I think that's well said. The broad cross section of smoke-tossing warbands, traditional infiltrators with marker state and mines, non-camo infiltrators with madtraps, and a -6 HI with HMG feels very Vanilla Yu Jing to me.
Of course VG are a different unit, but virtually all interactions that a VG have with an opposing unit will result in losing the VG, and losing their corresponding Order. Auxilia and Regulars don't have that problem... They defend, they attack, they support, and they typically don't have to get in harm's way. If you want something that tosses smoke, the PanO units can't help you, and the VG units are great. If you want something that cheerleads while defending your DZ, the PanO units do it better in terms of denying area without risking their Order. If you want something that fulfills a secondary role outside of those, both the PanO and VG units do something helpful. VG are good, very well built, but 12 points to run close and do a Berserk hit or single chain rifle shot isn't that good, especially in the current climate of the game where defense vs smoke-tossing warbands is higher than it's ever been. VG would have been insane a year ago. Now, they're simply good.
Hahahahahahahahaha shoulda known this woukd be here. How do i feel? Id rather pano tags and HI and CHA galwegians
Im happy not to dissapoint you <3 Either way it was dead quiet in PanO section so I thought it might get things moving. Either way its good to see obvious assurance that there is no power creep ^^
Sure, more cross faction comparisons in a vacuum will really help get the people back to the pano forum. Im absolutely positive that the same attitude as before we got updated across the board will encourage people to discuss the faction and how to leverage its strengths......
Exactly. I'll play O-12 because (and this is key for me) it's pretty and I like it. If I want to play PanO, I'll play PanO. They're different enough.
I like their aesthetic a lot (except the auxdog), and their rules are ok, but the fluff is a big turnoff for me. Still, they'll be fun to play against, and that's one of the things about Infinity that's cool - dropping a new faction enhances the play experience of everyone, even people who don't pick up that faction.
For sure. I'm not starting them myself (too much to play already) but I'm happy to trigger-pull at them and support the locals who are giving them a try.
Cause stealth HI, Camo jammers with sensor assault pistols and nuerocinetic smg/shock mkmn rifles Arent nicr
It's cool. Every time someone says "PanO was a mistake", somewhere there's a Kamau Sniper who rolls another Crit.
Hot take they seem a bit like a PanO Tunguska. ie some individually eyebrow raising things (some similar to some PanO things, some similar to other faction things) that are super strong / elite in their niche, but all taken together probably only reasonably good. That seems pretty fair for O-12
No one said Pano was a mistake here. Its just very clear O-12 is very much Pano if it was allowed to have a bunch of skills/equipment that would make them more well rounded. Smoke warband with a nisse like MSV 2 troop. A Pano wet dream that O-12 has got. Would you like some elite melee units to go with your superior shooting? O-12 got that covered. Do you wish Pano had decent access to adhessive ammo to stop those damn dog warriors. O-12's got you covered. Would you like a none hacker specialist on your Echo Bravo? O-12 strikes again baby!
I mean O-12 has a smoke throwing regular v:dogged warband and ODD HMG HI thats cheaper than the holy sepulchre. So..... No, they are not nice enough. :P
Wow, it was really quick to limit your viewpoint of PanO to VIRD only ^^ (thought I must say it shouldn't be that surprising, VIRD is really spoled with some good/interesting options/tools, my personal top-one is a B4 Triangulated Fire Camo sniper)
