As a Nomads player if ALEPH would make an advance on the Nomads and they allie with CA by "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" I would be OK with that. What I would hate the most would be a desing change like super ugly Kiss & Bit. Would realy love a two player starting Box with Tunguska vs Verdic -> But I realy think two player box will be not before GenCon and Nomads allready have a two player box... When they change a existing fraction / sectorial they would get some backlash with the community. Changing something people haven't allready bought in wound be easier to accept. However how would the rest of the fraction accept their sectorial in vanilla if it't only a sectorial? What I don't get at all is the point System that are used for events - Why not correct points gaint by eact fraction in total and divide by times played to corecct for more plaer heavy fractions?
That's actually simple - "these are the guys who broke away from that sub-faction when it switched sides". Somewhat like Krakots, only on larger scale.
In current B4CKD00R challenge there is some kind of recalculation based on faction's population. HellLois mentioned it in ITS subforum but didn't want to disclose details. Maybe CB will handle future campaigns in similar way?
I am definitely concerned about any big upcoming change, but with so little detail I struggle to speculate, meaning its an amorphous unfocused concern which keeps fixating on the worst possible outcomes before dismissing them as 'naaah, they couldn't possibly make [that apocalyptic decision]'. This is psychological torture, CB, in definite violation of the Concilium Conventions! Pulling back from that, while the plot of Infinity hasn't advanced, its starting point is a really great place for playing special forces skirmish warfare miniatures games, and I absolutely love it in contrast to a lot of the competitors who embrace total war, with games played in the context of planetary invasions or the Battle of the Somme. I think they can get away with a lot and maintain that, maybe even up to a sectorial defection, without tumbling the setting down that path, but not the sometimes-suggested event of Combined forces reaching Earth. Would Yu Jing swapping out Aleph for the EI in its AI-dependent society lead the setting to open war? Would CA troops landing on Dawn? Those are significant, but maybe could be pulled off with the correct implementation. I'll have to hope whatever comes will let them have some fun advancing the story of their setting, without crossing that line.
For a two player box, I'd actually think the one that'd fit the most would be Kazak and Vedic. Neither army has been featured in a 2 player box, both armies appeal to differing kinds of players, Vedic has a lot of high-tech, Kazak has a lot of low-tech. Kazak has camoflauge in abundance and AP weapons, Vedic has visors and nanopulsers to play against the Kazaks' low BTS. This allows you to resculpt the Vanilla ALEPH starter and rebrand it the "not Vedic Vedic starter" ala Ramah in Red Veil as well as having a starter incorprorated for Kazaks. Resculpt the Aleph vanilla box as it is and add a Danavas or a Dasyu as the limited model Make a Kazak starter with 3 line kazaks, Vet Kazak, Spetsnaz, and maybe a Kazak Doctor or a Tankhunter, then either a Dog Warrior or another new S5 or S6 model to really sell the box
I can now clearly picture Gutier in it's desk laughing while saying "dance my little puppets, dance". An this time @Bostria is gona go wild on BoW. remember my words! Bostria said it last year. The first N will be an event that make Someones will be like :gun: and other like
I gotta say, the best part about CB saying it's something big is the way it got the community all fired up. It's great to see all the ideas and speculation. For former 40k players, it's pretty refreshing to have an advancing story where the players actually take part in driving the story further. I don't really care if it's "good" or "bad" news, as long as there's news. Regarding Ariadna in a starter box..somehow...it just doesn't feel right. Mainly because USARF got their army pack, and the same faction (not sub-faction tho) in a "big box" somehow doesn't make sense. I wholly support the idea of Aleph/Vedic going in a split box though. Not sure what the second army would be though. Kazak/Vedic doesn't feel like a good match in the same sense since one of them is extremely high-tech, and the other barely has any hackers or hackable units which makes for sketchy gameplay. To be quite honest, Tohaa or CA would be a better match :I
I take it everyone has seen the "enough" image being circulated on Facebook? If not, have a look in the main groups
I'd say a civil war ? A faction tearing apart the consensus of the human sphere ? Or a new faction emerging from the rebellion caused by the backdoor crisis ?
Again, in terms of sectorials JSA and MO seems to be most "independent" sectorials from their own factions...
the image is an old artwork of what looks like a crane agent and two pheasants (or other cranes) walking up to a JSA line presumably to meter punishment of some sort. "ENOUGH" being in huge bold letters, and JSA's obvious hatred of Yu Jing by lore, makes you wonder if maybe JSA has had "ENOUGH"
Well Carlos has stated multiple times, as recently as January, that the upcoming story could cause players of a certain faction to hate CB. Wonder if it is a split of Yu Jin with JSA moving to unaligned armies? Outside of loosing ninjas can't see too many Yu Jing players being overly upset with that. However JSA loosing it's status as a sectorial would cause some rage so maybe it's the opposite of what people are thinking?
