Hi all, I've bee rummaging through the wiki and the forums, but want a little help finding info on the following things: 1) Is there a list anywhere of the skills that can be used while in the engaged state? 2) I understand you can turn off stealth to force ZoC AROs. For example: turn off stealth for 1st move to force a change face/reset ARO, then move into LoS without getting shot. Is there any clause to delay, or are there other ZoC AROs that are valid in this situation? 3) Does a Spec-Ops automatically count as a specialist operative for missions ?
1) Currently the Engaged description actually has a comprehensive list IIRC (including Reset). 2) This is correct, 6th Sense is a very useful skill in this situation. 3) Only if the mission says so. For ICS missions they are, for this season's ITS they are not.
And here is that list: Troopers in Engaged state are considered to be in Close Combat (CC). For this reason, they can only declare CC Attack, Coup de GrĂ¢ce, Dodge and those Skills which specify that they can be used in CC Combat or in the Engaged state, as Reset.
So the exhaustive list is: CC Attack Coup de Grace Dodge Reset ? And for Spec Ops there is no longer a Specialist Operative option, so they must be a 'proper' Specialist (Hacker, Doctor, Engineer) ?
Yes Yes, for the current Season's ITS missions, maybe this will change in ITS 11, maybe it won't. We'll find out in September.
Scavenger is one of "those skills which specify that they can be used in CC Combat" so there are a rare few others, but it is sufficiently close to exhaustive.
After the latest Army Update and the arrival of the new spec ops, all of them have the "specialisit troup" trait in his description, if I'am not wrong.
Yes. It's the Infinity Spec-Ops special skill that governs this, similar to Specialist Operative skill that some troops have. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Infinity_Spec-Ops
Spec-Ops do not have the Specialist Operative Special Skill. If you see it listed in Army, please report it in the Army Bugs thread. As colbrook said, it's only in missions that say so. Currently, that's only the missions in Daedalus' Fall.
Hmm, that's more than a little confusing if the skill says "This is X, but only if the scenario says so" when the scenario saying so wouldn't need the skill's line at all.
It's matching the equivalent wording for other Skills that can make you count as a Specialist Trooper, like Forward Observer, Doctor, Hacker etc. They all contain an equivalent clause.
...except for Specialist Operative which outright states they are Specialist Troops. Yes, it does match them, though that makes the answer technically correct even if currently not practically applicable and for ITS 10 confusing. At least we no longer have a mission where Chain of Command is not a specialist skill... I think... I seem to recall there being one or two missions where it wasn't during ITS 7 or 8
Indeed, B != A, A = A, therefore A. But we've arrived at an answer to OP's 3rd question: 3) Only Specialist Operative automatically counts as a Specialist Troop for missions. Check each mission to see what other skills qualify. During ITS 10, at the moment, Spec-Ops do not qualify.
Yes, you are right, they don't have the trait in the army, but as @Mahtamori said, "http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Infinity_Spec-Ops", is a little confussing. The wording refers "to the scenary" having "spec ops can be use as specialist troups" or having "troups with specialist troop" can be use as specialists? In my local meta all the people are using the spec ops as specialist now,and we are no few :'(
