I often ponder the comparative scales of some 1/48th-ish scale firearms for conversions when looking around on bitz sites, and since I have a fair few lying around I figured I'd make a comparison from what I had for others
    [IMG]
Some weapons were still on a sprue for comparison, so I took closer-shots of their counterparts. I also took some closer comparisons of some Hasselfree and Corvus stuff, as the former are one of the nice suppliers of "infinity-ish" scale metal guns
    [IMG]
Warlord Bolt Action M1911 versus Tamiya 1/35th luger and Warlord/Wargames Project Z M1911. The upscaling of the pistols here seems rather apparent from 28mm/heroic scale games, and as a result it seems a 1/35th pistol should work well with an Infinity-ish scale, as I have been advised more than once (As an aside, someone on WGC Facebook pointed me towards a company called Live-Resin as having supplied their pistols for conversions and they look like they're pretty good)
    1/35th Tamiya versus Warlord 28mm M1 Carbines
    [IMG]
1/35th Tamiya versus Warlord 28mm M3 "Grease Guns". Fun tip: An M3 Grease Gun and M3A1 can be identified easily by the presence or lack of a cocking handle respectively. At least at these scales.
Hasslefree G36C versus Corvus Belli Nomad Combi-Rifle. Note the Combi-Rifle has a far shorter stock than the G36C, but the two are otherwise quite close in size in these forms.

Hasslefree G36C versus Corvus Belli Nomad Spitfire (Older style from the Spec-Ops), note that they again are pretty close in size, albeit the futuregun is waaaay taller and boxier....

I've also got some 40k stuff (tau, eldar, ork, marine, IG) I can compare to some of these if anyone has any requests, since a lot of the best bits makers seem to scale for 40k.

The Nomad Combi has an extendable stock, so I guess that in reality, it would be longer than the G36C, but still pretty close. And I think for a sliiightly larger scale looking at the size of the hand there, so that would fit.

The old Nomad Spitfire was crazy huge in height and boxiness. The new one is much more appropriately sleek!

A new closer comparison, this time 1:48th G3s off Shapeways versus some Airfix 1:48ths and some Warlord/Wargames Factory Project Z weapons. Sadly a confirmation true 1:48th weapons aren't quite proportioned right for 28/32mm scales but nice enough little gubbins for gun racks or panoply decoration, etc, so I'm personally happy with 'em. Also available in 1:43rd but obviously only about 1mm taller and longer but that might be enough to fit in better, not sure.

A quick and nasty pic of an assortment of 40k weapons beside some previous ones, with some 1/35th Tamiya accessories down the bottom and a Dakini. The minigun is a Hasslefree one, and also there in the middle is an Aires resin 1/48th M60.

The 40k weapons include 2nd edition style storm bolter and terminator arm, and an OG Necromunda stub pistol.

What is that weapon beneath the minigun and above the mp5?

Edit, oh never mind I see the key a few posts above.

Yes, that's what it's supposed to be. It's from Hasslefree, "Tomoko Gun"

A new comparison, a Trumpeter MG36 in 1/35 scale. Which here is basically just a full G36 with a bipod as I didn't put the C Mag on.

Hasslefree G36c and CB nomad spitfires plus combi for the others.

I have some of the Spectre minis, the weapons are very thin and fragile. True-scale 28mm. They should work, but honestly the detail is a bit low.

These are very interesting comparison scale pictures.

Getting me to remember how I've been pondering about custom building my Lieutenant for Ikari Company.
