A seed soldier and a shrouded both begin the game prone and next to one another. Both models are silhouette zero (because that's what being prone does), and in the prone state. Is there any observable difference from the opponent's perspective? (To put it another way, do you need to say 'this is an S2 silhouette that is S0 because it's prone, and this is an S0 silhouette that's also S0 because it's prone'?)
I will say, it does give the game away a bit since you have to tell them it's S0, but having a Seed Soldier behind a low barricade does make it hard to see on the opponent's turn, but allows you to declare autohatch - surprise shot on your active turn to stand up and shoot them.
Yes, there very obviously is. The Seed Soldier is a camo marker that you have to say is explicitly S0, and the Shrouded is explicitly a camo marker with S2 that must have a Prone marker added to indicate that he is prone. As an amusing side note, any mine is explicitly an S2 camo, and you may not put it Prone, because mines cannot go prone =)
mmm, I don't agree with this one. If both start the game prone (seed soldier have S0 but there is no restriction to deploy them prone), then I think you don't need to say anything (all the info is private after all for being in a CAMO state).
Silhouette is not private info though. And according to wiki - Camo markers retain their S value. So, for example when taking a Sphinx or Antipode Assault Pack, you have to place appropriate camo markers, so S6 for Sphinx for example.
And the Silhouette value of the Shrouded will be 0 due to being Prone. There will be two identical Prone S0 Camo markers.
Not sure if you are trolling or have just forgotten your own wiki =) However: Camouflage Markers (CAMO) retain the Silhouette (S) values printed on their troop profiles. So you would have a Prone S0 marker and a Prone S2 marker (which is currently S0 due to being Prone), since the Shrouded's profile has Silhouette value listed as S2.
While not revealed for the first time, It's not fair to fish for extra information asking for details that aren't public info yet. You can see the diameter of the base and the prone marker, so you'd know it has to be a S0, S1 or S2; but as it is prone you still doesn't know which is real. It's like asking who is the Lt or whether a CAMO marker generate a irregular or regular order based on that in the orders it says this:
You're trying to conveniently ignore the fact that the Prone state change the silhouette of the markers to S0. You have two camo markers (25mm base size) and next each of them are Prone markers. Both of those camo markers are S0 due to the Prone rules. The publicly available information for those two markers is: S0 (25mm), Prone. (Along with the information not being argued about, like combat group membership).
