Greetings Jade Empite citizens! I dont have an uprising book. I have a question about it. From what I have read on the forums it was a shit show to say the least. What does not make sense to me, more than the actions that made the Japanese independance possible, is that the Japanese people leaving the faction does not mean the tech and trainings would disappear from Yu Jing. The training and technology would have been recorded. How was it that the Jade empire lost all knowledge of the training programs and technology? Why is it not possible to build JSA TAGs and throw Yu Jing piolits in them? Or Train up a uber trooper who is Yu Jingenese with a JSA training? Is this covered in the lore? It does not make sense in moderen times let alone in the future with AI and super tech.
Looks like you need learn some new words! There is no answers for this or other questions. Maybe someone will come and tell that all the factories and specialists remained in the territories of Japan, and Mao will like this posts. Better give up and ignore it.
Opening up a can of something bad here @Azuset ! lol My answer: It's a comic book. Meaning don't ask how Superman flies, he just does. Some things just don't make sense.
A wizard did it. By the way, there is an in-universe explanation about why Superman flies. Good comic books, as any good narrative, have to have some internal coherence.
I don't quite follow what you mean with this? Are you asking why yu Jing don't just have domaru still if they can produce the armour? Or why they don't have a o'yoroi?
The tactical dogma is not prefered by the state empire who does not see their troops as that expendable, it is not a question of if they can produce the equipment, they sure can, the question if if it fits their dogma and operational capacity, Japanese Sectorial Command was semi independent and they expended troops quite freely to reach their appointed goals at their own disgrace.
There is also the fact that the Japanese probably e-bombed their factories and whatnot, deleting as much of the data that remained in YJ hands as they left. It's pretty certain that the Mowang (Demon Lord) armor is the YJ version of the Daiyokai (big demon) JSA armor, but why would YJ build Domaru armor now when the Crane suit is better protected (ARM4BTS6 instead of ARM3BTS3) with near-equal mobility (CC22MA3 instead of CC23MA3)?
The fluff revolved around a few reasons. But basically: The Yu Jing armies operate in self sufficient units. So where they lost units that actively use the Domaru armour they typically have alternatives they are happy with. We can also infer Yu Jing has corporations that work as arms dealers/liquidate surplus military gear so I presume they took most of the remaining armour and sold it off to Merc Companies. The Kugage aristocracy also put a lot of effort into stock piling bleeding edge tech and marking it as experimental/in development. Even the karakuri project is marked as a special project right? They took as much of the research as they could with them and did their best to destroy the remaining copies. Some of this tech was brought with them in the separation, some is still accessible to YJ and others were lost for the foreseeable future.
There's also the example of the Daiyokai and Mowang, which I believe were both offshoots of a partially complete advanced armour project underway at the time of the Uprising. The Japanese scientists fled with their research and produced the Daiyokai, whilst Yu Jing turned what was left of the project into the Mowang.
From the Domaru fluff, unless it got changed, the Domaru owned and operated their own personal armour suits. Since armour isn't exactly cheap, I can imagine that they tended to be slightly out-dated models compared to newer Yu Jing armour, which isn't necessarily worse armour since there are so many different variables for quality (manufacturing cost and operational time two such qualities that aren't modelled in game)
Oh thats a good point thats part of the reason for why Tanko are so ragtag right? Because they also operate their own armour but they're not from the nobility so they are poorer?
Maybe, I don't know Separatist lore as much. I only hunted down unit snippets prior to Uprising and certainly their predecessors Haramaki were the young 'uns, but Haramaki were still nobility so I can imagine that Tanko are fitted with cheaper mass-produced stuff that probably chafe in awkward places because it's not custom fitted.
https://human-sphere.com/index.php?title=Tanko_Zensenbutai Tanko armour is highly modular, designed for easy maintenance and is extensively customised by the individual, in part due to the lack of production for standardised suits.
Whilst the fluff states that Domaru look down on the Tanko as common born upstarts, the truth is that they're jealous of the Tanko's excellent millinery.
And here we go again... SIGH As stated in Uprising book, japanese researchers were developing the project Kikuchiyo, mentioned as a superheavy servopowered armor. On the other hand background for Mowang in 3rd Offensive defines them as veterans from Paradiso used as the main shock line of YuJing in that front. Which thing implies the Mowang already have a sheet of service as a unit. Something that wouldn't be possible if Mowang armor had been developed from the savaged Kikuchiyo project. And let's face it, if that had been the case I think it's safe to assume the fluff of the unit would have made a mention to it. In my honest opinion, I think it's the reversed case: japanese were trying to develop a superheavy armor that could perform in a similar way as Mowangs for the Japanese Sectorial Army. When they had to flee, being able to save and carry with them only some data from the Kikuchiyo project and with the independent nation asking for fast results; they just developed the armor, strapped on a pair of katanas and a big weapon and called it a day.
I'd toss in that the special skills, equipment and stats of units aren't a simple representation of armour and equipment. Training, upbringing, culture and unit espirit d'corps all factor into how a unit might perform on the table. An o'yoroi doesn't have MA L1 because of the TAG construction alone. But the specific culture of the TAG unit that pilots them. And also, its not particularly world building to say things happen but nothing changes, because Yu Jing just replaced them with functionally identical units immediately. It dilutes the effect.
This is a local meme associated with Gutier’s interview, in which he advised critics to read his books more, then they will be able to learn new words. In general, I do not think that he was trying to insult someone, in person, he seemed very polite and delicate. Unfortunately, this does not make the book better, and attempts to protect it are not pitiful.
