Don't forget that the USARF Sectorial Starter set of 6 is going away too. I don't hold high hopes that you'll be able to get the Cadmus we saw previewed or the Taighas without buying Defiance.
The Cadmus is in the Advance Pack, I'd be very surprised if that doesn't come out as a pair of blisters. The USARF starter is kind of different, since the big box is just it, but better, and it's all for one faction so you don't have to worry so much about fobbing a bunch of minis off on somebody.
The one we saw a render of definitely had a red fury while the one in the Advance pack is listed with a boarding shotgun
It's an Aleph unit, but she's also going to be in O-12. We don't know what the mini looks like yet, but here is her artwork from Aristeia!
I love her look, I really hope she'll also be in the Steel Phalanx, we need some fresh blood. At worst, she can be a decent Myrmidon Officer proxy...
Everything looks pretty awesome so far although it’s hard to say for certain without better pics of the models. Does anyone know when the videos will come out showing everything off in detail?
From the pre order page itself: Hippolyta’s character was created in close collaboration with Manu aka Kelthret, the first season AGL champion. He earned the right to participate in the design of an Aristeia! character. Manu shared with us his passion for the Infinity Myrmidons and suggested a Myrmidon Officer as a starting point. The result is a spectacular leader support, both in design and game profile. I would say she is an officer turned aristo
Where is the source that states the terrain is 3mm thick? I am familiar with 2mm card used as chits and counters and what-have-yous in board games. It is quite durable, and would make for nice terrain. (Pro tip: seal the edges, carefully, with PVA glue to keep the pieces from 'decompressing'.) 3mm is insanely thick -- and unnecessarily thick -- for this sort of use. This stuff will need to be 'punched out', I bet. It is usually die cut too, so CB may have had dies made for it... which means they can always reskin it for future terrain packs. There will of course be ways to expand the buildings too, depending upon the joints. Photos look like it will be simple to do. I am wondering if they have not used this for the terrain as a trial run for what they plan to include in Defiance. I have several co-op dungeon crawl games and they all have 2mm thick pieces.
Thanks. 3mm... just crazy overkill. But there it is. Ah, but it will not have the same slide around the table problems as the stuff from the current terrain packs. That's nice. And it'll support the minis better.
Depends on the basing I end up using. My Nomads are on clear acrylic bases, so I clipped the tabs all the way off. About half of the resin-based minis I do have the tab cut all the way off, the rest have the tab cut down into a huge peg. But my Haqq are on standard bases with a coat of Red Oxide basing gel over the top, and my Ariadna used Black Lava basing gel.
Awesome. I think you can even make the board terrain more durable by also doing a clear coat spray on it. As long as you don't over spray it won't hurt anything paper.
