Friendly reminder that despite the "official" color, nothing prevents you from putting black instead of gold or something on your minis.

Remember that it's a completely new faction so they need to look different from the others. What I've seen so far feels alright. Plus let's be honest. We've seen three partial art. We can't really make a full judgement yet.

Oh I know, and I'm very excited. I'm looking forward to see what avenues O-12 will explore. will they be a hyper expensive small model count army? will they rely on tech instead of skills? defensive instead of offensive?

Maybe they are merging the Beyond box into this box so we will get much larger groups?

Considering just the name, Aegis would be suitable as a defensive unit. But in lore, they are a response unit so likely aggressive and elite. I'd lean toward the smaller count of powerful units.

And yet, people might get upset if they don't ahve the same number of models so.... who knows.

Right, but I often find theres a certain disconnect between the lore and how it's represented on table-top in this game. It sucks but sometimes it's true.

To me, Aegis could just mean defenders of the human sphere – though I do suspect that their line troop will be in the 13/14 point range with high BS and interesting tech.

The art we have shows them using "Aleph" weapons (made in PanO) which usually indicates well funded/supplied (a lot of mercs use them).

So my pure speculation on O-12.

    1. Meant to fight the Combined threat but will do “police” actions on human forces. Due to this I think they will have Equipment and weapons specifically for going against Combined but still work fine against humans.
    Sensor/Sniffers
MSV and other visors (360, X-Visor, Bio, etc)
Breaker Rifles (Maybe not standard, but many of them)
E/M Ammo (again, they are the ones “authorized” to use it.)
    Cube 2.0

    2. Possibly the best humanity has to offer so I’d think many Veterans, Elites, and HQ troops.

    3. Very high tech. While this his not Aleph, they might have some with Lhost bodies. So it’s possible to have Ghost Jumper of some short. Maybe more unique than Aleph.

    4. I suspects there will be some Aleph troops even if it is it’s own faction. Aleph is actually a part of O-12. Why would they not use Dakinis, Devas, and a few other things?

    5. O-12 is made up of people from all of the factions. Though technically they renounce up those old ties, they still exist. Also, each faction wants to make sure they are represented in the O-12 and that might mean militarily as well. So I’m expecting possibly 1 troop from each faction to be present. Most likely the Elite troops.

I doubt that. While I think the fiday (and saladin) will be there tarik won't be and he is in the Beyond red veil box. The Red veil boxes were basically RTF starters. Its just missing the name.

If Tarik is there, I'll eat these word while buying O-12 immediately.

I highly doubt any forces from outside O-12 itself will be in the army. While Saladin was created to be an O-12 liaison, he was created to be a Haqqislamite, not a citizen of O-12.

I can see maybe an aleph unit or two in an O-12 sectorial. but not it's vanilla. how many vanilla armies straight up have another factions unit in it?

of course this is if O-12 gets a sectorial off the bat or maybe they wont get vanilla at all! who knows.

But Bureau Aegis is not just Section Spatha ("Team Escalation"), but Section Statera as well.
    And those are the lawyers...
So maybe line infantry with only stun pistols, but a new weapon called 'lawsuit'.
I am sure this will pose an unexpected threat to the CA!

In the RPG they are their own 'faction'. They even have their own planet: Concilium.

Interesting, really didn’t expect that. Is there a bit of lore about its history? And how does the transfer between being a citizen of PanO and being a citizen of O12 work?

During character generation there are many ways: You start as O-12 citizen, you spend a 'life point' to change your faction, or you roll it up on an event table...

    For the fluff:

I can see a Bureau Toth sectorial having some unique Aleph troops, but yea, not in the vanilla.

    OBJECTION special ability.

O-12 is sort of the UN of Infinity, except efficient, powerful and quite independant. They do have their own planet. However, while they are a faction of their own, they represent the human sphere as a whole and actively recruit from all factions. All factions also make it a point to be represented in O-12.

You can definitely be born a citizen of O-12, be recruited by or defect to O-12 (which isn,t really a defection), or, specifically in the case of Bureau Noir, be an active member of a different faction work on missions for O-12.

Basically, O-12 is meant to be "Humanity United". Not that they won't work against certain factions on the side, but it's usually to maintain balance in the Sphere.

Oh and on the subject of prohibited weapons, There's really no reasons O-12 can't allow their own troops to use them. They are, after all, the authority. As for the other factions, black market, hyper corps, secret projects. They all have them, we all know it! What the O-12 doesn't know (though they probably do know) doesn,t hurt them unless they get shot with said weapons.

I mean it seems they jealously guard their own interests too. Their intervention during Uprising implies that they aren't so much concerned with balance and seem to specifically have it out for Yu Jing. No surprise that an oganization that purports to be the supreme human authority would abuse the power it assumes, though.

Yup. Plus they consider themselves superior legally, morally, and probably even racially to the rest of the human sphere. They don't really recognize the idea of sovereignty or self-determination for other groups of people.

I don't understand the comparison with warmachine, apart from the colours, there's absolutely no similitude between them. If I have to make a comparison, I would compare the o-12's HI to a marine from starcraft 2 (apart from the helmet obviously.)

Bostria lying? What a shocker. /sarcasm

    Kick the power strip?

I have a feeling that many of those 'bans' are most specifically about using them on humans. EM weapons are ideal for removing monowire and relatively safely disabling vehicles/TAGs/REMs.

I've seen one, but I didn't get it saved on this computer. I don't feel like going through the entire weapons list to rebuild the 'O12 naughty list'.

You make them seem rather villainous and bad, but from what I've read in the RPG books and genreal lore, they aren't like that. While they aren't entirely altruitic in their full behavior, they aren't depicted as thinking of themselves superior in every way to the other factions. They really are working for a status quo in the Sphere, and they do recognize the sovereignty of the other factions. What they do want is to monitor them so as to avoid another collonial war and give a voice to all humans. You kinda depict them as the fourth Reich there.

On the subject of Yu Jing and Uprising, Japanese citizens have been treated as crap by Yu Jing ever since the formation, it's not surprising that the JSA would recieve help from O-12. It's less a display of hatred toward Yu Jing, and more of a show that Japanese are also people (Yu Jing was pretty much making them slaves and they barely had any rights).
