The giant fins on the back of the Gwailos are pretty unique to Shas, and if you have seen the Sphinx art, that is a VERY unique looking sculpt.
O-12 is like that kid that would turn off the Super Nintendo "accidentally" if he was going to lose the third lap in Mario Kart.
Funny thing because my first impression was a Warjack as well and I'm not even a warmachine player ;) @FireFangs I get it but still I see PanO and JSA knights/samurai as a futuristic versions of the original designs and from that O-12 unit I just get a retro armour vibe but maybe that's just me. @Stiopa funny how many of those banned weapons/technologies are used by all sphere fractions. I guess O-12 is doing poor job of enforcing those bans.
Will someone be crazy enough to make a list of weapons prohibited by concilium law ? Will the concilum follow its own recommendations ? That would mean no DA, no Schock amo and no KHD if I remember correctly. :)
Accurate UN reference, then. Also, I wouldn't look too much into how bulky units are on those artworks. Look at Gwailo, it's twice as thick as it was in the dossier.
In only three words: "Space police officers". That was my idea of O-12 when I first heard of them back in 2010. The idea of a black and white color scheme and some "Matrix" like troops or even guys in suits and ties like "space detectives" used to get me a boner...XD Now that I've seen them ... it's a "wait for more" but not particularly impressed or hyped. I promised myself nine years ago that if there was an O-12 army I would collect it. But I'd like to buy an army for its minis, not it's name, so let's wait.
Not strictly Wildfire, but they’ve shown the first Shasvastii render on the Defiance page, which I think is the first physical look we’ve had of the new Shas. (Just remembered the Speculo Killer but that’s more human looking). Cadmus render:
Just a friendly reminder about the setting, O-12 is not the UN and are not reliant on the goodwill of member nations. As such, they don't get bogged down in BS and can operate effectively. The reason you have MULTI weapons and all sorts of banned ammo across a lot of factions is that they stopped enforcing the bans due to Combined invasion, unless my memory fails me. Humanity is in crisis mode and needs all the tools they can get to deal with this extinction level threat, and O-12 isn't going to get in the way of said tools.
Judging from the artwork we should expect Caliban BSG, rather than Jayth. The rest looks very probable. I'm really curious about the O-12 side.
That O-12 sniper kind of reminds me of the police from Deus Ex mankind divided. Which is really cool! I'm not a huge fan of the "official" color scheme though – it makes them look very fantasy, if you know what I mean. I think I'd paint mine in more dark blues and blacks
I'm surprised no one here has mentioned Saladin, His full title is Saladin, 0-12 Liaison officer. Plus he was over looked in RTF. Given what I know about his lore and what @daszul mentioned about the different divisions, Fidays (Impersonators) will be included. If that's the case I'll seriously consider O-12, those are the main reasons I keep Vanilla Haqq. Adding in Counter intelligence is a bonus.
When I hear "New Faction" I would really prefer not to see recycled characters and units. There's a ton of design space that's wide open for a new faction and I'd like to explore it. Save the mish-mash factions for NA-2
O-12 is pretty explicitly a new faction and not an NA2, both from this trailer and previous CB statements.
