So mk's are just the generic knights of the orders, I'm rusty on the structure. Can women really not join an order unless they're named Joan Arc? I haven't seen it stated anywhere one way or another. That helmet and general look of the Santiago's is why I like them, had they been the same as the N2 Hospitallers I probably wouldn't have looked further. With that particular MO, however, I'm more confident that they'll come out unique. With their specialists and 0g environment purposes. Montesa I would hope would be different and have an unmounted version. I don't see them having the same type of tabard as others since it could get in the way of riding. KotHS, as I said, are already my favorites, they could keep the design mostly intact and I'll be happy, but maybe give us more than one. What bugs me about CB and sculpts however, is that I have a Santiago with a BSG. If I wanted to field my knights, I can't do anything with that particular model anymore. If I was a player, I'd be rather pissed that I have a 'useless' mini.
I suspect CB to have resculpted only the MO units the SWF will be able to field plus Joan. This way, they will need to make new molds only for the really new SWF units and give MO retirement (since the MO presence on Paradiso is jeopardised now). So, I think the lovers of the Hospitaller+Magisters link will like SWF, even if I think this will be limited to a Haris.
Not sure if that still holds true as BSG lost the E/M Grenades, but it's still the cheapest profile and Haris, making it still an obvious missing model. KHD falls under Hacker and that has a model. I don't think many would complain if a new NCA starter featured 2x BSG and 1 Combi + LSG Bolt though.
That is a very good point. The MO resculpts stopped after Joan, the Hospitallers & Magisters were taken care off. Hospitallers were important because they are in the future Svala sectorial so they need to be brought up to date. The new Order Sergeant sculpts were done in advance for the 300 point army box. Which also contained the Hospitallers, new (& only) Black Friar model, along with Joan & the Crusader Mulit/Flamer. All new sculpts that were made in advance to be bundled together while no other units got a visual update outside of the Magister Knights & Joan 2.0. We should have had a new MO starter set or at least some hints on when a new starter would come out. Now that I've heard about this endangerment for the Knights on Paradiso it makes me think that the Knights could very well be put on the shelf until further notice. Svala's release could very well be the time when this happens. What are everyone's thoughts on this?
I don't think you can really guess what CB will do. They printed SAA and then within a year discontinued their minis. Ariadna hasn't had a vanilla update in a really long time. Sure there are a lot of new sectorials being dropped, especially with the addition of the NA2 movement, but it took a long time for this to even arrive. My Speculation... I think Svala is 3-4 years off. It will probably still exist in those special ITS lists, but it woin't have new units, at least not until the full sectorial drops. After this crazy sectorial dropping ends, I think Yu Jing will get another sectorial first, because they have space in their faction for new SKUs.
I would say that it is "suspected". Its preatty clearly obvious atm. that CB only resculped things available/usable/fitting to SWF.
Defersen got an update, does that count? It's a worrisome theory, and I'd like to hope releases aren't based on what's going on with the story line. On the other hand, the knights in that storyline could make a resurgence and we get more mini's from that. I for one would love a Knights of the Round Table themed box :D
Well yes, somewhere around 2 years back with HSN3, he changed from HD to AHD+Trinity. Now with 3rdO he got a "surprise Hospitaller discount" of 2 pts, but without new equipment/skills/stats. (he only now cannot link with a 4 cheap Magisters)
I guess he was just supposed to be cool 5th man for Hospitaller Core as design of mini is very similiar. And his old design would look weird next to the new bulky scultps of Hospitallers.
I was in the middle of learning how to play MRRF when the MO/SAA changes hit (the other two sectorials I had some experience with) so I was in a bit of an awkward position of having to relearn how to play. I feel like I've gotten a pretty good handle on the new MO at this point and while I haven't tried the new SAA yet, on paper it seems really, really strong. I'm personally not that into Varuna, so I won't be playing around with them at least until Helots are out. But right now I'm actually really intrigued by what all these changes mean for Vanilla - which I hadn't really played much before. I'm not sure what, but it definitely seems like there's something there.
Seems very possible. Though I and many on the forums think CB will release both White Banner and Svala at the same time or near each other. It makes since considering how they are their factions' forces on the icy planet. Maybe they'll be a two player box with each sectorials' starters inside?
Yea, but apparently a lot have changed in the meantime (I mean a lot of things people tended to take for certain like IA and whole Gulang&Tiger Soldier etc) so while it is true I wouldn't treat it like dogma.
It's such an obvious win for them that I'd say it's pretty likely. My position on it hasn't changed, I still expect a Svalarheima themed box with PanOceania vs Yu Jing as the new "Icestorm" to launch N4.
Do you really think that we need a N4? What could be changed in N4 compared to N3, excepted a better wording?
Fix a lot of what the broke already ? Various stupid interactions (SS2 Jammer, Strategic Deployment). Things like pilots could also use an overhaul. But in general I would agree that it's hard to think exactly what "revolutionary change" could N4 bring.
Pardon, but what exactly is a "living rulebook"? I already have a dog, I'm not feeding and walking anything else.
