Ok, i'm officially confused by the new rule for Spawn Embryos... http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Spawn-Embryo Ok, i get it. A Shrouded FO (25 points) falls unconscious and enter the SE state. Let's imagine he is my only casualties. During the game, i count as having 300 surviving points, it is just for Retreat calculation. At the end of the game, i get 275 VP because he counts as dead (as per last bullet of the effects. But... If the mission has ZONE OF OPERATION, there is a special effect that let Spawn Embryos score. In this case, i count 25 points in that ZO (suppose he is alone in there) but i still get only 275 VP. Am I right here? (Shrodinger Shasvastii, as long as you don't put a bullet in he, he's both alive and dead at the same time) For reference: "Troops possessing the Shasvastii Special Skill that are inside a Zone of Operations count while they are in the Spawn-Embryo state or any non-Null state." Now the problem came with KILLING missions... Here, the Objective Points always states "To kill more Army Points than the adversary". And there is a rule for Killing that says "A trooper is considered Killed when he enters Dead state, or is in a Null state at the end of the game." So, the Shrodinger Shasvasti how the hell is it considered? Because reading the second bullet of the effects, i think that my opponent scored 0 killed army points, but have only 275 VP
Lol, Shrodinger Shavasti. Use fire, generously, to end that uncertainty The Spawn Embrio have the null label, so he would count as a killed troopers. In the Zone of Operation there it is specified that they count for controling that zone, but nothing more; they are still "casualities" at the end of the game.
Ok, that was what i thought too (even if i hoped not) But then, in the second bullet, what is this line for? Similarly, the opposing army cannot count them as casualties when determining the point cost of eliminated troopers.
As that's a subset of 'during the game', I assume that's future-proofing for missions where you have to count casualties before the end.
The thing is that Spawn Embryo has that last bullet point: At the end of the game, troopers in the Spawn-Embryo state are treated like Unconscious troopers, that is, they do not count towards their players' Victory Points. Note that those "killing" missions count unconscious models as "killed" because Unconscious is a null state. So it's not the Shasvastii's fault for that inconsistency. What it means is that Spawn Embryo is a very minor advantage, sort of like the worst possible version of Dogged. The trooper's a goner for sure, but if no one does any thing they hold out until the end of the game, especially when counting for territory control missions.
Yep, this rule is just to have more map pressence in those cuadrant control missions and not much more right now. By the way, why is this line here? Doesn't this works like this for the standard unconscious state too?
Because the SEED Embryo state has its own stats. In the previous edition there was a lot of confusion on these two states.
So that line means that if the Shavastii also has the Seed-Embrio ability, he will use the seed embrio armor XDD. I'm not really into Shavasti so good to know!
