I really slowed down painting about a year ago when I finished about 80% of my models. I'm starting a thread to motivate me to finish the rest. Newly completed is the Moderator Chief! I painted a lieutenant symbol on his shoulder and I'll be using him for missions like Decapitation where my LT is public information. He's the boss of what will hopefully become a force of around 15 Moderators. I want to field a legit three group list some day.
Nice to see some different painting style and colors. I like it. (and I say that as someone who does paint by numbers most of the time)
That hairstyle. There is no hope for old geezers even in the distant future. Or is this some kind of nomad retro fashion hairstyle?
I imagine it's something like, once you can get bio-implants to do whatever, stuff like that screams authenticity. That's got to be the ultimate currency on Bakunin. I expect great things from this guy. My moderators get involved in some pretty muscular late-game counterattacks and the LT often leads the charge.
That quite unique. I love the hair and stache you painted on the face. Plus the color scheme is good as well.
@helsbecter Still looking good overall. Makes me wonder how your entire Bakunin force will look like when all is said and done.
Quick break from Bakunin! Recently, I was asked to paint a model for a prize for the Rust Belt Ruckus primer this Saturday... any model I wanted. I had a $25 dollar store credit burning a hole in my pocket, so I did my FLGS a solid and bought Thamyris, who might as well have gone in the garbage otherwise. A perfect prize, though, I figure - nobody owns him, and if they do for some reason, they sure haven't assembled and painted him. Now some lucky winner can have a "cool" warcor model. My secret goal here was to do some experiments and discover the perfect red for my Corregidor. This is close, but the texture came out wrong. I think I mixed up too much extra talc in the paint.
@helsbecter Looks like I'm not the only one who bought Thamyris to use as a Warcor. Your paint style is a colorful breath of fresh air next to everyone else on the Forum.
New model! I was asked to paint a very special Warcor as a prize for the Rust Belt Ruckus in Cleveland on Saturday: Gogo Marlene! Come on out and play, we have a shitload of prizes so this will probably go to like seventh or eighth place. :v I have to finish a few more models of my own before the tournament, so I will have more to post soon.
New stuff. I painted two Zero MSR's for the Rust Belt Ruckus, though I wound up not running the list that used them both. I also finished the Zero BSG I posted about in ~March~ so now I have a full alt-squad of Zeroes! Zero BSG Easy conversion. Bless the old nomad BSG - all I had to do was clip the barrel and hollow out the stock. Zero MSR #1 Once upon a time, I bought a Spektr hacker and made it a MSR. Later on, I wanted to convert the Zero AHD, but couldn't figure out how to pull it off without the finished product looking retarded. I put two and two together and the result looked good. Zero MSR #2 This guy I can barely tell apart from the actual model. He is too sneaky. Finally, I finished my Moderator hacker out of the new set. I hate hate hate the hacker head, so I replaced it with Leila Sharif's head. It worked out unexpectedly well. Next on deck are some pupniks and a leftover morlock.
I still haven't finished the pupniks or the morlock. They're like 80% done. I did, however, paint a 300 point QK list for a paint and play tournament. This was my first outing beyond Bakunin.
@helsbecter They look really nice. I like the brown, yellow, grey & red color scheme that you choose. It makes them stand out from all the other Haqq models I've seen.
