One thing I wonder is "What will the final boss look like ?" Sheskin ? An Anathematic ? A Cardboard avatar ?
I want a jetpack-using aerial specialist. And not because I just finished painting a Yuan Yuan. Having a superjump user would be a nice niche. Some might argue that it wouldn't fit in a Dungeon Crawler, but really, a dungeon doesn't have to be a tomb!
Jumping all over a cave was/is a pretty common thing in videogames that could be seen as dungeon crawling. Or having a grappling hook. It could also be considered some kind of teletransport.
I'm not a huge fan ... looks too much like a Space Marine with a heavy bolter to my taste. I would rather have him hold two HMG, each of them linked to the backpack. Weapon's weight is not an issue in the futur. And that would be original + super badass.
Weapon weight is still an issue in the future. If you go by the RPG, weapons have a size which indicate how you can wield them. One handed, two handed, one handed with enough strength, TAG only and so on. This indicate that you can't simply carry a ton. Not to mention the required ammuntions to properly fire two HMGs. Caseless ammunitions are still pieces of metal. There's only so much a power armor can carry. Consider also the situation. While this man is clearly the heavy weapon specialist of the team, and his main task would be to cause damage in an obvious fashion, he still has to manage his ammunitions as they are behind enemy lines. He can't fire with reckless abandon. Plus carrying two HMG ready to fire means he lacks the potential to use his second hand for any other task that could require immediate attention. He's part of a small team and thus would be expected to perform more than one task. Now, there is an example of dual wielding large guns in the RPG. However, this is definitely not someone on a long mission. Just someone on rampage. As for the pose of the guy, I think it's fine. He doesn't feel especially space marine to me. Unless it's because of the heavy armor, but then anything could look like a space marine.
I bet he carries a lot of knives. To throw! Is it me or there's a distinct lack of medic in that team? Unless the Wulver is the doctor. Which would be rather funny and convenient for my RPG game. The doctor of the team is a haggis loving scottish dogface that's slightly unhinged and has an imaginary friend he constantly talks to and who's name he scream whenever he attacks. Seriously the rest of the group was convinced it was PTSD and that O'flanagan was an old war buddy that died!
