Yes, that's direct from Gutier. That there will be other 'Tohaa' Sectorials doesn't stop the current faction from effectively being a Sectorial in design and release terms.
Well I'm going to make the most of it this year with Tohaa and kick some ass at tournaments. My mission: To make the Taquel Officer and Gorgos the "thing".
So we have 3 hypothetical sectorials that share a few units. Business as usual. The only difference is that they don't have their vanilla mentioned. Seriously though, we can call it however we like, it doesn't change the fact Tohaa has like 1-2 units for a role, fireteams and overall lack of units. That reeks of sectorial design no matter how it is called.
I almost didn't start playing Tohaa originally, due to the wah Tohaa gets no releases and nobody loves us BS on the other forum. Come on guys. Tohaa is in a good place, regardless of releases. Let's just keep it positive?
The problem is not that we are missing something important the problem is that we don't have that many options which means, less possiblities to swap things up or surprise the enemy, its pretty easy to predict a tohaa list most of the time...at least these are my thoughts
Tohaa are in an excellent position. We really don't have much to complain about (with the exception of how ugly the Sukeuls are). However, the lack of new stuff for Tohaa tends to keep people away and causes the people who do play Tohaa to feel neglected. It's just not good for morale when your chosen faction gets next to nothing while other factions are getting 3-5 times what you get. Right now Tohaa players are discouraged because we feel like an afterthought when it comes to new stuff. With the digital sculpts they could have easily given us a couple extra blisters along the way of units we already have and we would have been happier than we are currently. Tohaa is a great faction for those people looking to buy a limited amount of miniatures and nothing more. Or it's a great second faction for someone who has a large faction. Those of us who chose it as a primary faction keep getting bored with what we currently have when we see all the new toys everyone else gets.
Thats why I started Nomads as a second fraction...and I actually like the sukeul :( On the other side its good for my purse cause I won't be buying anymore Nomads and so its only Tohaa I spent money on
I very much like bikes so i looked ahave seen that JSA has a lot of bikes. 2 weeks later a friend of mine sold his JSA stuff (basically the whole sectorial) and I bought it. I didnt want to play human factions because I want aliens so I eyed with Shas and bought the starter in Septembre and I play mainly Shas right know but Tohaa is in my heart
Hey, Sukeuls are great! The only weird thing about the models is that they are 15% higher than anything else in Tohaa (except for the new Neema sculpt). #AllSukeulsAreBeautiful
First off, tohaa are advertised as a faction on the infinity website. Secondly, in their first release, campaign paradiso, they are described as a new army, using the same language that is used to describe aleph. an interview about the release of tohaa: http://www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/introducing-tohaa-brand-faction-infinity/ Nowhere is it mentioned that tohaa are a "standalone sectorial" or whatever cb now thinks of them. they are consistently described as a faction, the same as aleph. For cb or anyone else to act as if they were intended to be sectorial sized all along is disingenious, especially considering how the tohaa are currently advertised. If cb wants to stop supporting an army that is not selling well, that is their prerogative, but i think its pretty disrespectful of them to not make that clear to their customers.
They have always been intended to effectively be a Sectorial faction and not as large as the other factions. There's no 'act as if'.
