With Full Auto Lv2 and Fatality. It's just a joke at how Dahshat got some more of Invincible Armys premier toys AFTER it's release. Is a lighthearted joke.
Well, I think we have all debated our first impressions "in hot" about Krit. For the most part general consensus is he's not a good profile as he's heavily taxed without bringing too many new tricks to the sectorial, but he isn't useless either and much more competent than the Guijia for sure :P Personally, If I had to tweak the profile, without touching the bloat, I would just make all profiles minelayer with E/Mauler, as imho that tool is the main reason to bring him. And I would swap the E/Mitter with a light grenade launcher. It would be pricey but appealing enough. Having thought with more calm about the profile I can see that, regardless of current negative opinion, Krit will see quite play in IA ( I fail to see him in vanilla though ). As Barakiel mentioned before, this guy can be an useful addition in those mission with center room and about contesting the midfield. I could see him in a core like this Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 KRIT KOKRAM (FTO) Combi Rifle + E/Mitter, E/Mauler, Chain Colt / 2 Heavy Pistols,Knife (0 | 39) ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Duo, Tactical Awareness) HMG / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (1.5 | 38) ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (0.5 | 34) HǍIDÀO Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun / Electric Pulse. (0 | 13) 2 SWC | 150 Points Open in Infinity Army While Pangos are difficult to maneouver with in a core its presence is justified as a mobile repeater for the KH and to refill Krit's E/Maulers. I think such a fireteam can be quite annoying in the surroundings of the objective room. The Zuyong Tinbot can be upgraded to ShangJi, where his increased stats and lft will make him quite fitting to storm the room. Another case of use would be in a Haris designed to do objectives. A Haris is more nimble and easier to maneouver than a core, and in IA it's possible to build a Haris with plenty of tools like the next one: Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 KRIT KOKRAM (FTO) Combi Rifle + E/Mitter, E/Mauler, Chain Colt / 2 Heavy Pistols,Knife (0 | 39) SHÀNG JÍ (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0.5 | 43) TAI SHENG Mk12, Chain-colt, Stun Grenades / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 45) 0.5 SWC | 127 Points Open in Infinity Army Such a Haris should be able to do objectives, fight very competitively at close range, lay E/Maulers and make use of their extra orders to fall back to safety before end of turn. If you feel you need some long range power in your haris then maybe Krit can be your pointman: Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 KRIT KOKRAM (FTO) Feuerbach, D-Charges, Chain Colt / 2 Heavy Pistols,Knife (2 | 48) SHÀNG JÍ (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0.5 | 43) TAI SHENG Mk12, Chain-colt, Stun Grenades / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 45) 2.5 SWC | 136 Points Open in Infinity Army Despite I really miss the E/Mauler here. And a budget solution can be a humble Duo Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 2 KRIT KOKRAM (FTO) Combi Rifle + E/Mitter, E/Mauler, Chain Colt / 2 Heavy Pistols,Knife (0 | 39) ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Duo, Tactical Awareness) HMG / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (1.5 | 38) 1.5 SWC | 77 Points Open in Infinity Army From my point of view Krit gives us WIP 14 , DTW, E/Maulers over the other Engineer options and doesn't take the HaiDao slot. He's also a competent fighter and not squishy. And he also can be healed back (unlike HaiDao). I think he can be specially useful in single group lists, as I normally find myself struggling in order to fit the 5th member of a core, an engineer and the doctor. And in the end the engineer must be gone usually in favor of the others. I agree all the bloat is a hard pill to swallow and the profile feels lackluster but I think he will find his way into many lists. That's from a theoretical point of view. Now it's time to play him.
I think the best way to describe him is "the new Bipandra" (who, prior to her do-over, was tied for highest in-faction doctor, by far the easiest to link, but reviled for being very expensive)
Bipandra in Thai, technically, but yeah. But why would you take Krit over Tai Sheng? NCO with LT2 adds an immense amount of power to the link. I agree that those Haris or Duos are pretty useful. The problem is that Krit is at least 4pts too expensive (Automedikit), and really closer to 10pts too expensive.
If you go for the Heavy Link, I strongly advise to take Tai Sheng for the extra two orders imho. So If I could change Krit, I would do the following: Remove Combi Rifle Add Minelayer to FTO profile Add Fatality L2 (it currently cost no extra points and fits the heavy gunslinger background, while not being completely overpowered because of the limited range and burst of the pistols. Also, this guy has it in his name!)
Wall flower here. To all the people trying to post ways to try him, keep at it and I wish you success. I applaud you and I will be among you. To all the neigh sayers, never play him and show your discontent that way. If after the dust settles he’s barely played, hopefully that will be seen and he’ll get some kind of adjustment. He is such a small part of this game and how it plays we don’t need to give it SO much energy. Feel free to bash me or w/e. I don’t overreact to trolls.
When facing Aleph: Greeks: you know both Phoenix and Machaon will be there. Thrasimedes will lead the Thorakitai link, never Alke. And they will most likely be x2 4man links, if both are Myrmidon-ones is very likely it will be a LI list, else there will be Netrods and 8pts cheap bots. Tons of smoke Little to no presence of Dactils (I have NEVER seen one on the table, besides the odd one I would place sometimes) OSS: If Yadu Core, then LI If Dakini Core, then Apsaras (there is little reason not to). Very rarely you will see a Deva core (and you can bet the player using it has only Aleph models in his collection). Hard to see a non-LI list, unless it's a spam of bots It is possible, but not much extended, to see a nearly full camo/TO list. Only 2 MSV anti smoke. No smoke whatsoever. All OSS and Vanilla lists will have Posthumans and, unless LI, Netrods. All lists consider the Marut a "too expensive to use" tool. Etc... Etc... Hello, do you have a moment to talk about our most fair lady Andromeda, the only troop of the Greek army who walks also in the OSS to justify her existence (there she is the only CC "specialist". Because in the land of the blind, the on-eyed lady is Queen). Granted, her biggest problem is the Size (that S4... too big a base) and that is hard to change (specially since they sculpted the hand on the doggo's head), but CB hasn't shown any will to change the profile to reduce that problem (or her "apprentice of all, overcosted too" syndrome).
This sectorial has been like this since forever, and it is its design. Dactyls are just bad - expensive without providing enough bonus. If you could include one in a Myrmidon or Thorakitai link, you'd see them more, otherwise no point. Alke is crap. Sooo... There's some variety available. Also, sectorial is badly designed so that its supposedly centrepiece units (Marut and Asura) don't have good support in the rest of the sectorial, one of the core links (Devas) has no meaningful ways to build it, and everything costs a bunch so of course you go LI.
No offense @Nemo No Name but we all know you don't like Yadu's and groan about them and OSS. It's as well established in this forum as the sky is blue. Can your signature hate for the Yadus etc. not spill in to other threas?
I think we deviated a lot from the topic if we talk about Yadu. On the semi topic, except some synergy items that are easy to predict, Dakini+Apsara or a really popular unit, posthuman, I do not see the same lists here, as I said local metas may have made the list building inert?
Oh for f* sake. I deliberately DID NOT MENTION YADU IN MY POST. Please pay close attention to what I say, and not what you think I say. I was merely commenting on xagroths post about something I have a bit of experience. Also, I DID NOT SAY OSS IS WEAK. I said it's badly designed. There is a big difference.
While I disagree strongly about OSS not having Smoke, that doesn't form the meat of my argument anyway. Sectorial has incoherent theme, many overlap in unit roles, minimal synergies (and plenty of actual dis-synergy, ex. Red Fury on a REM), and a strong push in listbuilding to have low weapon variety (everybody Combi Rifles!). Anyway, this is a discussion for different thread. Here we complain about Krit, and Krit only.
Dashat is a powergamers dream, it is a terribly designed and overpowered army balance-wise Back to Krit, I am going to test him this weekend and get back with results.
