Possibly as an IA character (since he doesn't command Banner forces anymore), but so far I am thankful that CB hasn't fallen into the trope of having high ranking individuals be badass fighters. Once you get enough brass on your shoulders you get desk duties and start growing fat and stressed over your decisions. What we get for badassery comes from middling officers.
,It would be awesome if they spend theyre funding to Excavate Tessium as a priority to get the a advantage over pano. AP and T2 ammunition against theyre TAGs. Also the idea of a low budget high wip army sound very promissing too
I don't mean high WIP so much as creative ways of making warfare. New takes on mixed fireteams, different versions of Zhanshi similar to Varuna divisions, increased skirmisher presence, more extensive use of mines and other deployables, sectorial-exclusive modifications of old designs (not just Cube Mings, but Cube Mings with larger set of skills and gear) There's vast amounts of fun stuff you could make that stays within the confines of Yu Jing and makes use of the old model concepts. How about FD2 Shaolin Monks? How about wildcard mimetic Wu Ming? How about a separate Zhanshi division that's not linkable and has camo? How about a few new profiles for Zhanshi Gongcheng carrying mines, madtraps, and similar options? How about Total Reaction Lu Duan? No? How about a Lu Duan with Adhesive Launcher, Combi Rifle and Climb+? All the possibilities to get creative with what they conceivably already have! They just have to break Yu Jing's normal regulations a bit.
Since Huang Di and it's mines of Tessium are vital to Yu Jing and it's security I highly doubt they would lack in funding. In fact a lot of money probably goes into just to get food there. The bit they grow i'm sure is not nearly enough to feed the population. Then there are incentives just to get people to work there. I’m willing to bet that majority of people that work there, are only there for a period of time to make money and then go home to wherever they came from. Then there’s people that have made it their home and fiercely protect it. That could include new Buddhist and Taoist monasteries including Shaolin. Personally I'd love ta new Wu Tang (Dang). I think on Huang Di and the White Banner, it’s all about terrain. Think about a whole world that’s like Greenland, Siberia, Tibet (Himalayas). The vast majority of people live in the cities but there’s plenty of mining and military outposts, experimental R&D. But mostly mining areas. Another thing about the population is that it’s possibly very mutli-cultural in the major cities. You have many transient people from different factions, cultures, etc. For example, you have a Yu Jing mine, with workers from around the Human Sphere, with Nomad security, Haqqislam environmental consultants, and Aleph looking for Combined forces.
From what little I've read, the planet is claimed and occupied by Pan-O with Yu Jing having a comparatively small intrusion presence there. If there are multicultural presence there, they mainly work for Pan-O.
Nah. Guilang are also infiltrating with MSV1 and a few improved stats. I'm talking about something that's much more literally Zhanshi statline, but limited AVA (like... 1 in vanilla and 3 in Huang Di) and vastly different weapons - starting at roughly 14 points carrying a Combi and a dream. More like a really crappy Intruder :D
yep, terrain and fast moving i hope, would be nice if they get above average PH because of the hardy climate. THHHEEE WHAAAATTT?
Mech Transformation TAG CB pls demmit. Call me crazy, but... I wouldn't mind a dedicated infowar HI unit actually. Maybe have it be a retrofitting Zuyong or Wu Ming suit to power a portable infowar array. Expensive... but a big and angry hacker in power armor is very Yu Jing. Or how about... A medium infantry Zhanshi division. Would be cool. Or maybe A division of Zhanshi with exoskeletons. Not like full on armor and stuff, but just an exo-skeletal harness with maybe that letting the carry a bigger gun... or maybe allow them to have shoulder mounted guns. Would be cool to have an MI that's just like... Okay, lemme try to phrase this weird idea I've had for these ''Zhanshi in exoskeletons.'' They don't have much for actual standard guns in their hands. Maybe a Heavy Pistol or an SMG at best. But they carry specialised weapons on their shoulders! LRLs, LGLs, the basic profile might have an adhessive launcher or maybe a contender or some other fittingly mounted to a shoulder small gun, maybe a shoulder-mounted marksman rifle profile too. Maybe some pitchers or mine dispensers? The entire idea would just be a rather bland MI unit whose main draw would be a wide variety of very specialised 0.5-1SWC weapon options. Maybe make them count as Zhanshi for fireteams too. but that's just some crazy rambling on my part
Blue Wolves were described in early editions of the game as "Jotum Killers", TAGs dedicated to combating the armour superiority that the heavy TAGs gave to PanO. They were playtested for inclusion in the original Human Sphere, IIRC from Q&As with Bostria they had ODD/TO and an HMRC (back when HMRCs were significantly better than Multi-HMGs), this was considered a bit too much, especially as YJ aren't meant to be a premier TAG faction. I believe in current fluff the Blue Wolves moniker applies to a Svalarheima based Guija squadron, so it's possible we'll see an additional profile for the White Banner, in the vein of Ramah Maggie/Varuna ORCs.
Id still like to see the Tiger Soldiers broken up into those with Combat Jump and those with Multi-terrain. That could help a lot. I can see more troops with Multi-terrain and Climbing Plus. Maybe with FD1 or 2. Also since it’s on a world mining Tuseum, there should be at least 1 troop with access to a T2 ammo. Not if Yu Jing goes out of their way to make it so. They may be small but aggressive. That's been around for a long time. Since 1st edition. I think it was floated that it's a light TAG with Holo Projector Level 2 that makes it look like a Wolf Pack and it's a Anti-TAG TAG. It would have anti-armor type weapons.
Something interesting would be a ODD/TO meele specialist TAG with high PH and hyper-dynamics lv 2or3 but 1 str and low bs for a TAG maybe 12
What's the actual point of a 1 STR TAG...? That's like... a 1 Wound Heavy Infa- Actually, this doesn't sound so surprising anymore. T:
i mean like if someone shoot you and you have ODD and are dodging with HDl2 then your opponent is on a -12, so it would be a little point heavy or OP if he had several strukture idk just a thought, maybe 2 STR but then they have to get limited acces to smoke and that would suck alot
A light TAG with an Escape System CC/CQB focused Operator would be neat, a smaller, close range Anaconda if you will.
