Well it wasn't a disaster but the Maggie was undone by its fatass silhouette and resulting inability to gain cover. A linked Keisotsu ML did the rest. I may revise my intention to take it the tournament in May.
Linked MLs can be a death knell for TAGs, they hit so hard. This is why when running a Maghariba I'm thinking a forward deployed Mukhtar Red Fury as it can get within 24" and mug the buggers. Not a lot of linked MSV Missile Launchers after all.
HI links toting MLs and the Maruts have been responsible for 90% of all the deaths my Maggie has had (I had one being linked LI with panzerfausts lol). I like the Maggie for its looks but its about as durable as a Ghulam because it can't hide and Infinity is never short on the means to kill a TAG like the Maggie. The recent update needed to add some survivability to the Maggie or lower its points more I think personally. I will continue to force myself to run the $70 model lol.
I took one of the new 360 visor profiles but sadly I think 99pts can be better invested elsewhere. A pair of Namurr or a Haris of Mukthars for example.
Ran this list in Looting and Sabotage today and yeah the Nahab and Namurrs kicked arse. The Nahab got an attack run off with three D-Charges... With one failed save! Fortunately the Namurr Spitfire had pushed up and was in a great position for a third round strike, blowing up the target (still only failed two saves out of six though...) and securing the win. Thoughts... Nahab and Namurr are awesome. Kinematica L2 on the Nahab is really strong at times. The Namurr are speedy objective completing machines, love them. Also having them plus a Mukhtar Red Fury means four troops that can keep ticking post taking a wound: very useful and means a much more resilient force. I which case I will see you there (My ITS name is MikeS - new forum registration foul up). I will also be trying out Ramah for a change. I normally run CA so will be my first tournament run out for a Haqq army. I expect disaster!
Honestly I feel like RTF are more like CA in playstyle than other Haqq forces! You've got a heavily automated force with elite superhuman troops providing a core punch and high tech weaponry, obviously they definitely do differ in areas but I think you could do a lot worse than play them like that!
They definitely have a more elite feel to them and some genuine solo pieces. They also feel geared toward 10 order lists which is were I feel most comfortable as I learned the game playing vanilla Combined.

Core with the khawarij as the centerpoint, two Mukthars and Shibab to hold the middle, ML as the antiarmour option, Nahab to hunt down enemy hackers. Nahab and RF Mukhtar manages to put both Asuras into NWI but thats wqsnt sadly enough. Khawarij dissasembled three Dactinis, as he rolled 4 crits in total, three of them being on 1. In the end Asuras stomped on the core, but yeah, fun stuff.
So, Tarik's gotten hold of the 'roids. I mean, shit, that's a lot of 'roids. Jumpy bois are good now, I can remember the Khawarij' being used mostly to guard the shelf while the gang was out playing in the field.
I think the paint job is a little bland - too much brown. The rifle strap draws the most attention on the model other than the sword. Still better than the lot of Zhayedans though.
Tarik went from "as big as his fellow Khawarij" to "he lifts". Back in N2, Khawarij were just pretty meh, they lacked good weapon options and it was just a very mobile, slightly souped-up Ghulam.
Has anyone tried Carmen? How has she done? How has she been successful? I've taken her out a few times and had a few failures with her, but I'd attribute that to mismanagement.
I've used Carmen in all my 4 Ramah battles and I like her. She's not very cheap, but she has a good set of skills and equipment, needed in Ramah (and almost everywhere else too ;) ). I regularly ride with Kasym in Haqq, and she's even a bit more interesting in CC and her dog with Sensor can help a lot. Gave me easy points in ITS tournament for one of the Classified Objectives. Thanks to the smoke she works very well with advancing the forces, helping Tarik get into good range without risky FtFs and also combos nicely with Mukhtar MSV2 and Khawarij Mk12. Using her puppy she can attack enemies from a small distance without risk of being harmed, or, if you need it, you can attack your enemy with throwing Trenchhammer and also shooting with heavy pistol/chain rifle. It works nice, killed few guys that way. Or, if your move lets you, you can go into CC with both of the killers, and it's just sweet. TBH I was rather unlucky with that, trying to finish off wounded Spector in one of the tournament battles. He have the same CC and skills, but I had 2 dices thanks to doggy and Carmen, and we fought for 3 orders - 2 times nothing happened, we drawed, and then he killed her. Weird stuff. Still it was just dices and I'll definitely keep on using Carmen in RTF. PozdRawiam / Greetings
I'm playing Engineering Deck this weekend in prep for the Gateway Gauntlet. Any advice on this list? Especially deployment! I've been playing for a little over a year and deployment is always difficult. The first 5 models are a Ghulam Core. Followed by a Khawarij Harris. I like the core concept of Tarik L2 and multiple NCOs. There are a couple things to keep in mind with it, though. With linking Tarik in general, you lose a lot of his mobility. In this case, he'll be going 6-4 with his team going 4-4, and whenever he uses super jump, Leila has to idle. The chain of command in the main team is good, but it's probably more important to get a doctor in there. What's your plan for the reactive turn? Other than the flash pulse bot, and the naffatun in the main team once things get close, I don't see anything I'd really be happy leaving out to slow your opponent down. What are you going to do with the tuareg? Are you just going to HD to heal up Tarik? In that case, you would be better off putting a doctor in the team, or with a hakim. As a skirmishing specialist, a nahab, especially the KHD version, might do that job better. If you want to do both, then the tuareg is definitely the way to go.
