So I have two Geckos and am looking at a discount lot that includes two more Geckos. I have never played Nomads, know little about them, and even less about Corregidor. Is 4 Geckos ever viable in any mission @ 300pts, and if so how would you use them? Way worse at fighting, but better support for scoring, can Killer Hack any enermy hackers. (Edit: Bandits aren't regular. Whoops) Seems pretty mediocre, does someone have a better approach? I'm not thinking it could be the best list, but would be good for the memes and maybe it can randomly hose opponents who aren't ready for it! Would settle for two Geckos if its really necessary, maybe leaving the Gecko death squad for those fabled 400pt games nobody ever seems willing to play
If your opponent is unprepared for it you'll do alright but as with all skew lists you'll meet a hard counter

() 6 SWC | 299 PointsOpen in Infinity Army You could easily swap out the bandit and downgrade Lupe to an FO and pick up an intruder lieutenant and then get an alguacile HMG instead of the hacker too
A couple of hackers would completely ruin your day. If you supported the geckos with at least 1 KHD bandit you could solve that easily, as well as have a nice infiltrating specialist that can wreck face if needed. Now I wanna build a 4 gecko list lol
Seconded. 4x Gecko is over 200pts in 4 models, and these models being Order sinks, even if fielded in Duo Fireteams. Two Geckos do fine in a 300pts list, but they lack many useful abilities you'd need in a list. I'd actually skip on that Clockmaker: Geckos, especially in Cover, can absorb quite a few bullets before they fall. Well, if you really want to repair / unGlue them, I'd rather invest in a Tomcat engineer: way less Orders necessary to get to an immobilised Gecko.
It also depends on just how much time you spend in your opponent's dz. I've found with Geckos that esrly game the Clockmaker's servants are closer and the +2 WIP is a big deal. Late game the Geckos would be closer to a Tomcat but I probably don't have the orders to bother repairing them either way since I'm going for late game points. I often have both options however.
I wouldn't say "way worse". McMurrough is the better fighter, but the Bandit Killer Hacker can hold its own, its just prone to being attacked by something far away.
