Has anyone used a Pugguling in a fireteam? Its technically a wildcard.

In an effort to make a more diverse list and save a few points I'm looking at putting the Pugguling EVO in my fireteam core. Giving me the bonuses to AD and access to Fairydust. I just don't like the idea of having my big beefy fireteam lug arround a fairly fragile target with them. On the bright side its a cheap linkable specialist.

    IA list B
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]10
HǍIDÀO Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Duo, Tactical Awareness) HMG / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (1.5 | 38)
    ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (0.5 | 34)
PANGGULING Hacker (EVO Hacking Device) Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 25)
    TAI SHENG Mk12, Chain-colt, Stun Grenades / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 45)
    DĀOYĪNG Lieutenant L2 Boarding Shotgun / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
ZHĒNCHÁ (Forward Observer) Submachine Gun, D.E.P., Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 34)
LIÚ XĪNG Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 32)
LIÚ XĪNG Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 32)
ZHANSHI Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13)

    2.5 SWC | 300 Points

I'm sorry to say only the Pangguling FTO profile is a wildcard, so only the Light Shotgun variant can be part of fireteams.

The EVO is a worthy inclusion in IA though, so don't let that stop you.

    Doh!!!

Ok so plan A is out... But has anyone else tried the FTO profile. It's just seams fragile to be in a Hi link. I can replace the zhanshi in my list above with it.

Yeah, it's a great option to save some points. It packs a repeater too so sometimes it can get handy.

There's a couple situations where I would like to expose the panggo before a HI. In bonus, it's 3 shots at 20's

Yeah, to me it is in an akward spot. You desperately need to free up points in IA, so on first glance it's a nice wildcard option for your HI paintrain, but on the other hand you've just added an S4 STR1 model with a light shotgun to your core that will lose its 5-man bonus as soon as this thing moves in the open.

The one use I can imagine is this:

    Invincible Army
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]3
    YĀN HUǑ (FTO) 2 Missile Launchers / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 52)
    ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (0.5 | 34)
PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun / Electric Pulse. (0 | 13)

    2.5 SWC | 99 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

But then again, that Haris is still way too expensive to play alongside a HI core, Daoying, Zhencha and Liu Xing.

The Pangguling FTO makes quite good Duo filler for take-and-hold scenarios; Baggage means it counts for 33-points in those scenarios.

It's a natural companion to the Mowang, who can tow it around with Lieutenant orders using NCO. It provides a Repeater so you can protect your Mowang from nefarious enemy hackers, and you can reload an empty Flammenspeer or Akrylat-Kanone if the need arises. Our TacAware Zuyong HMG can also bring one along for the ride for the same hacking protection.

The other good candidate is the Shang Ji Assault Hacker, who can use the Repeater directly to broaden its hacking area, and can use it to force firewall mods on any non-KHD opponents it wants to hack.

You can also attach it to Yan Huo, where it's a bit less likely to move up the field, but can protect its companion with the Repeater and bad rangebands with the Light Shotgun. The Hulang Shocktroopers are also a candidate, but that pairing is a bit awkward for a number of reasons.

The problem with it is that it's just kind of awkward to fit in to a fireteam simply because of the much larger base. It's weak to regular firepower and hacking. It's got little to no function beyond filling in a slot for fireteam bonuses to save you 10-20 points as most everything else can do what it can do but better.

I tried the list above and the FTO pangulling was a target. Since it was so big it was following the group, the. Had a couple potencial coheasion issues. When I am usingu the zoyong core I find I usually have extra SWC. So I may try the yaokong ML as a smaller more useful fireteam body. I can see the ML being useful.

If I switch to the yaokong I may switch the EVO hacker to zanshi hacker. This way I can give MML2 to the ML. I was using the EVO for the passive +3 AD, and fairdust. The HD does the same, except it cost orders.

I have a feeling they put it in there just to be a part of a Yan Huo team.

It's a mobile repeater. It extends the range of your Shang-Ji/Haidao. Stick it in a Duo or as a cheap filler when you're really short on points, or possibly as that backup body for when something dies and you need to nudge the link up to 5 again.

Edit: Forgot to type, but if you can't get at least some cover for a Panggolin, I think it's a terrain issue more than anything.

I pretty much always field the Pangulling in my fireteam.

    Tai Sheng with the TinBot
    HMG Zuyong (TA)
    Haidao MSR
    Son-Bae ML
    Pangguling FTO

I've found this a relatively cheap and resilient link.
The TinBot and Pangguling give decent hacking protection, especially if there's a Haidao KHD floating around.
The shotgun also provides some decent close in protection

I have a question for you guys relative to the topic of a REM in a FT core, do you think it's good to have the Haidao Engineer in the same FT as the bot? I know this can be a problem if a big EMP template hit them all, but how are the chances for that to happen? (I'm serious on that also, as I don't have that much experience against the other factions apart from Haqq and Pano and never encountered a EMP weapon for now)

I ask you because I was thinking of a list with the Engineer and the bot in a core, so he can repair it quickly this way, but I don't really know if this a good idea, since I'm either losing the Killer Hacker profile for this one or can't place the MVS2 sniper in the FT neither (since I plan to put him in my list too).

I don't like the HaiDao engineer profile in a link. You have to cancel the link or make sure noone has an ARO on the whole link once you activate that engineer to repair something. And you can't have a Yaozao attached afaik. Finally, the Combi rifle isn't of any great benefit, because you already have a combi most of the time with your Tinbot carrier.

The shiny new pango is sweet cream if it's used right. It can be upgraded with marksmanship and is a light linkteam bane, specially the remote ones (dakini and unidrón). The repeater is the best tool to dynamic hack (wile advancing) since you get firewall and extra reach. It also has baggage, so in OZ control is pure gold. The worst part is that it's tricky to move and tends to slow down the fireteam. I sincerely love to take 1 or 2 of them.

The alternative is the BS zuyong but it costs the double and doesn't bring the complete package.

And taking a haidao engineer on the fireteam makes it a really secure piece to take risks

Didn't think of that, especially the ARO part, this is enough for me to not take him in. And yes, I do agree that losing a combi to a BS isn't a problem at all in this case. Thanks!

Yeah, I usually put the Haidao KHD in the link, run the Engineer separately so he can have Tinbot support.

How often do people run engineers? unless U'm running TAG or multiple remotes I leave them behind. They announced a new Zuyong character engineer but I'm not super keen on it. I almost never run engineers.

There's lots of glue and EM locally, which makes engineers more valuable.

I guess it varies on the meta. We have some jammers, but not much em after that. Almost no adhesive is used.
