    @Mindworm EVO hackers aren't Repeaters ;)
    But otherwise, you're spot on.

Yea, that's right. It's weird because the Minesweeper Salyut and the Total Reaction Salut both have a Repeater, and most of the REMs have a Repeater on all profiles. I have a habit of telling opponents that "all of my remotes have a Repeater," because it's expedient, and mostly true, excepting the Zondbots and the EVO Salyut. It is true for all the REMs for which it matters, the two Transducers, the attack bots, and the Minesweeper Salyut (that is far more likely to be moving around than the EVO).

Honestly, all the Salyut Zonds should have a repeater, just for simplicity. What's the EVO bot going to do with it, anyway?

    Open in Infinity Army

Again, I'm not the best Infinity player in the world. I do okay. I placed 15/38 in the Adepticon Escalation tournament recently, although a few more average rolls in the bottom of turn three in game three would have given me two majors and a minor. What can you do when your Hellcat puts 7 Orders into an Intruder LT and comes up with nothing?

Anyway, I play this list because I like Hackers and I like Remotes, not necessarily because it is the best list for the job.

I had to figure out a pretty reliable way to give a good showing playing with the models I like to play with. This list, or some slight variation of it, is what I played in all three NOVA Open tournaments last year, and the few times I played a different list I probably should have just played this one.

The way I play this list is straightforward, and BTW it definitely has some holes. You will get into a crappy matchup on occasion, and there's some missions, like Biotechvore, that this list is absurd to play. But I've found that it does tolerably well in control missions, shooting missions, and objective missions.

My Interventor gets the deepest, darkest hole in my DZ. She doesn't move a muscle. If there's risk of an Impersonator I back her up with at least one Transducer, the Spitfire Tsyklon, and a Morlock. She has two jobs. 1: Use the LT Order to buff a Remote, 2: Use White Noise to counter MSV2. And she will take opportunity hacks, such as a hacking ARO against HI/Remotes/TAGs that wander into a Repeater.

My Clockmaker gets the second deepest, darkest hole, preferably on th opposite side of my DZ from the Interventor. Her job is to run my Zondbots, which piggyback my Tsyklons.

My EVO gets the third darkest hole in my DZ. It's job is to run Overclock, which I will put up with a Command Token if I don't have first turn. And also opportunity hacks, as above.

The Transducers are deployed to cover my DZ against AD troops, usually AD Infiltration. In Season X you can't do much about Combat Jump. Secondary deployment objective is to speed bump likely approaches to my DZ.

My Feuerbach Tsyklon gets deployed as a distraction, preferably in juuuust a juicy enough/dangerous enough position to peel off Orders in Turn 1. If it lives, great. If it's fixable, and I have the Orders, I'll fix it. Opponents usually don't like an Overclocked X Visor Feuerbach sitting on a Firelane, so they'll waste Orders shooting it off the table. That's her job.

My Zeros deploy on Objectives. Their job is to push buttons and then drop into Suppression on an okay firelane and speed bump the midfield. I like to drop mines as AROs. Makes people ornery. Secondary objectives are to deploy the KHD for hacker killing and/or the AHD to cover a good approach if the enemy has HI/REM/TAG. I like to put her prone on a building in those cases.

The Moran is a midfield speed bump. It's job is to put Koalas in annoying spots then drop into suppression.

Mary Problems does all the Objectives. She is a Veteran, a Specialist, and she isn't a REM, so she can synch with the Xenotech, grab civilians, etc. She moves fast and has ODD, so I will sometimes race her up the table to hold zones or objectives. She's otherwise there to let my opponent know I've got a scary AHD and KHD. Mary is visible, and people don't like her.

My Spitfire Tsyklon does any killing needs doing. My list is weak when it comes to direct action, and I put a lot of misplaced faith in my Spitfire Tsyklon. But it is generally 'good enough' at the job with Marksmanship L2 and a Zondbot buddy once it gets into position in the midfield.

The Morlocks paper over huge holes in the list. They cover my Tsyklon's approach into the midfield and I throw them wildly at threats I can't otherwise deal with. Late game usually involves moving a Morlock into the main combat group and doing a suicidal rambo.

The Tomcat Engineer is there for objectives. She is a backup Engineer, but mostly she is AD Infiltrating to D-charge stuff, drop a template, or secure the HVT.

The Salyut Minesweeper is a cheerleader and is there for baggage. Most opponents are broadsided by two baggage bots on the table. If you're not playing CA, you're also probably the only one with double baggage. This not only makes you functionally impossible to put into Retreat (if you get that deep you are being tabled, so Retreat is the least of your worries), it also helps a LOT in zone control missions like Transmission Matrix and Frontline. Again, people usually forget that you 8 point Salyut counts as 28 points, along with your 24 point Zero prone on that roof, your 6 point Morlock. They're usually only counting Mary's 30 points.

Late game you can also push up the Salyut EVO, if needed, or push it up on Turn 1 if you are playing a mission scored by turn. That Salyut is a surprise when it comes to counting points, clocking in at a whopping 45 points.

Anyway, that's it. That's the way I play this list. The REMs are all Overclocked so they ARO better than expected and you've got enough infiltrating specialists to drop on the objectives and get them done early. The list has problems killing things. Normally you're playing a war of attrition. A well-positioned Zero in Suppressive Fire is better than expected. Usually something dedicated to killing things has to engage it to get good odds.

If the mission calls for killing things I might swap in a Luno for the Feuerbach Tsyklon, try to fit in some more Morlocks or an extra Moran. You need to pick engagements carefully and play the CRAP out of the mission. Killing things is never the goal. And you need to keep your attack REM safe. Stun the target with a Transducer first, use smoke to avoid splitting burst, pop up White noise before engaging an MSV target. Opt for shooting a Pitcher near a HI/REM/TAG target and hack it before you shoot it.

There isn't an easy button here. Just a lot of fluffy, fun models that turn the middle of the table into a morass of mines, koalas, and order-sucking pie splits while you calmly focus on getting your points.

Have a friendly KHD blast enemy KHDs minds when they try to gank your Salyut.

Given that all the HS EVOs are the same, I'm glad they don't.

Reaktion Zonds and Vertigo Zonds don't have repeaters either.

If the Vertigo had a repeater EVO guided lists would suddenly be viable I think. Or at least a bit more viable. I reckon it'd be better if the 'standard' remotes had a bit more factional tweaking, especially for a hacker faction.

I think EVOs are exactly the reason why they don't have repeaters. Overclock would be too powerful on a Vertigo and weaken a Reaktion to B2.

I don't think so since those bots existed before Overclock did. Also, B2 BS12 AP DA template ARO would even be nowhere near the better AROs in the game. Plenty of factions can 5 link them with a normal Missile launcher now, for potentially B2 EXP template at BS15 or more, potentially with marksmanship on top. Also Overclock isn't obligatory, so the TR REM would not have to use it (it'd just be useless to it).

this is basically a Feuerbach with 3 member bonus (sans the template), its fine. just file it away as CB not wanting a repeat of guided spam.

The amount of repeaters and pitchers available is huge in faction

For 8 points you can get an extra order, cover the vertigo or tsyklon with a repeater, and get an extra Discover or Warning against anything creeping into your backfield. It only limits EVO support supportware, which I personally never use, and you can give B2 with traditional supportware.

you don't need supportware on the vertigo if you are doing guided attacks. I don't find it to be a cost effective ARO piece, but with the supportware it's a swiss army knife that can do enough in a pinch.

Yes but the point is it would buff the synergy between the guided bot and the EVO a little further, which would be a good thing, since both are relatively rarely used and so likely a little underpowered, and also an interesting Nomad 'thing'. They overnerfed guided a bit after N2 IMHO.

Guided is a little weak, but I think it deserves to be. It would be aggravating if it was strong, like Emily Handelmann-levels of aggravation.

Personally, I'd rather not pay for repeaters on everything. I'd rather have less repeaters and more points... repeaters on bots usually get me in trouble. Vertigo Zonds are frequent flyers in my lists despite the lack of repeater and often a lack of supportware/engineer.

It was super strong in n2. I won a decent size regional event with guided, basically shelled my way to victory with zeroes and vertigo doing vast majority of the work
