Why is Ramah subpar at button pushing? We have a wildcard specialist (Leila) that can join any link. We have two infiltrating specialists (Tuareg and Nahab), one of which is TO and the other can cyber mask, so both have marker states. Both Hakims and Nahab can AD to get on the table. The Namur is extremely mobile and durable and can link. The Khwarij is also very mobile and can link. The muktar have a 28 point mimetic, NWI, 6-2 specialist that can link. Can Ramah cram a bunch of specialists into a list as easy Vanilla? No, but I don't think it's meant to and I'm not so sure that makes it bad at button pushing scenarios. Then again, Then again, how I value troops and what I consider to be good and bad is very subjective. I also don't feel like Ramah is poor at long range engagements, but that seems to be another commonly held belief, so my metrics could be way off.

I started feeling Ramah struggled long-range, but conversation here has convinced me otherwise. Now, I'd say that we have pretty average long-range options for a sectorial, but that those can easily be overshadowed by spitfires, red furies, and Mk 12s.

As for button-pushing, I dont see the issue. All of our fireteams have strong specialists, at Haqq WIP. The only one that I feel like I'm only including just to be a specialist is the Mukhtar. We have a FO bot with a red fury. What we don't have is a cheap camo/infiltrating specialist. The Tuareg is great, but it pays for that TO. The Nahab also has a lot going for it, but is geared more toward combat than something like a Hunzakut, who I would argue pushes buttons better for cheaper.

I think Ramah introduced very strong Vanilla pieces. Nahabs can work very will with Fidays, and a Muktar MSV2 Red Fury on his own with Ghazi support is brutal. I don't know how much of a space Namurr have in Vanilla due to their cost, but Vanilla got GREAT toys.

Frontline comes to mind. Same for decapitation, but having a vanilla list with a couple fidays has potential in recap.

Fidays in general make Vanilla always enticing. They are an excellent problem solving tool, and force your opponent to play by your game.

I think namurr is great in vanilla. They are another Tarik style heavy infantry. Look at her compared to the new "light" HI in yu jing. 1 wound with nwi, and total immunity means you are always taking shots on your bts of 3. So thats like arm 3 too. BS12 isnt amazing but we arent new to it and phys 12 is decent when you consider HyDy is making it 18s. Couple that with superior mobility of 6-2 mov and climbing plus, the numarr is a LI like a HI that isnt as costly as tarik but can hold their own.

I maintain the question mostly boils down to “Do you want to play Tarik in a link?” Otherwise, all the new stuff are still pretty impactful options in Vanilla too.

I would put it broader. Mukhtar Haris is also deadly and can drag specialist with it. This order efficiency is not something to ignore. Cheap line infantry link is still very much an option on top of that, plus some standalone models would be classical sectorial listbuilding paradigm and pretty much defines the difference between vanilla and sectorials.

Whether Ramah is the best army to play that generic sectorial concept list is another question.

Mukhtar Haris, Ghulam/Naffatun core with Khawarij added in and NCO, higher AVA Nahab, all these are good things

Nobody mentioned that in Ramah vs. Vanilla Maghariba Guard gets a mine dispenser? So much fun right there!

It's locked behind the 360 visor unfortunately. Very expensive in an already expensive sectorial.

Yeah, it is much more appealing there. Dahshat is great honestly. Looks better every time I check it out.

In the options available? Yeah, it's pretty damn good. I think it's one of the top sectorials out there at the moment. Don't know in what other kinds of stupid it might be though.

*Shrug* I'm still not sure it would be enough to make me want to put it on the table.

I read that more as 'mercs bolting a mine dispenser onto their surplus TAG', but I'm not happy about Dahshat YJ components so we're probably even there.
