But remember ALEPH post humans and characters have some auto-isolation mechanism if they are infected by vodoo technology, like a muriatic pill for the cube.

They could well be new units or new characters with no perfect match to an existing unit.

Yeah, it might be a Kamau, but it might also be a previously unknown PanO zero-G combat MI of some sort.
Posthumans (and the pun/play on words in that name only dawned on me the other day) would be IMO the best troopers to use for a suicide mission, since they can walk their proxy into any danger imaginable and jump out at the last moment, so long as there is a netrod or equivalent close enough. The fact they can't be sepsitored (so far) gives them an added defence against the EI, and a single "ego" could fill multiple specialist roles within a limited team.
Also, looking at the twin kukri dude at the end, he doesn't "look" scottish, his face/features just doesn't have any of the more common celtic markers (though granted that means nothing if the artist isn't familliar with them).

    Teutons would also work ;P

(and finally they would find their own reason for existence ;P)

The first one seems a PanO. Kamau style helmet and sniper?
The second one, the girl, seems colored as Nomad, specifically Tunguska. Maybe an Interventor?
Third one, the bulky one, reminds of Al Fasid or Yan Huo. Nothingh of that side has that chest light or shoulder piece. Maybe totally new?
The last one, is an obvious Caledonian.

I wouldn't be surprized if the last one is MacMannus from TAK.

I don't know his background but the icone is obviously from Caledonian inspiration.

What if the new Zuyong character was a Defiance model?

I dunno. From the limited info we have on him (i.e. his infinity profile, and some artwork from the Infinity RPG - second image if you follow this link), he wields a (teseum?) axe, and not two machetes.

Also, although his symbol on ARMY includes Caledonian insignia and presumably he has Caledonian heritage, he doesn't fight for the CHA for some reason. The guy in the image has appears to have the Saltire on his pauldron which makes me think he is actual CHA.

The RPG picture does show McMannus with a beard and long hair though. Maybe you're right and the axe is a red herring.

Personally, I'm hoping he's a wulver character (and that CHA get him to complete their 5-man wulver core!)

Looks like the big guy is in fact a Yu Jing character. This is from the Defiance Blog article today:[IMG]

Haqq will be represented in an expansion by a fourth Tarik model that crits on any non-blank dice result.

Yu Jing, Pan O, Ariadna, and Nomads were the original 4, right?

If you refer to the original factions in Infinity the Game then we're talking of 6. The first launch featured PanO , YuJIng and Ariadna. But it was fastly followed by Haqqislam, Nomads and CA in that order. Keeping in mind the rules booklet and webpage made mention to those 6 factions.

The factions were released in the order they appear in the Army Builder. The core 6 were out by the time the rules were codified into the 1st edition rulebook.

Aleph the came with Human Sphere, and Tohaa with Campaign: Paradiso

I am interested in what peoples' expectations are that these characters will have profiles in Infinity as well.
To my understanding this is supposed to be a suicide mission, (or one with no chance of extraction), so I am not expecting the characters in this game to be given an infinity profile, and instead they will be a good proxy for an already existing unit or profile, (similar to the Outrage minis).

Well, they might do a cube backup before they leave.
Would be quite wise if it is a suicide mission.
And then they can be sent to the next suicide mission, and the next, and the next...
And finally appear as army profiles!

The models having Infinity profiles (or being a named version of an existing profile, forex Yan Huo MultiHMG) makes it easier to convince Infinity players to buy the box. As-is, Shas players are very likely to buy this box so they can get the 8x Taigha Creatures.
