Not particularly. Bear in mind that the camera angle is making the near-corner in each photo look much larger than it actually is, and the corners were the emptiest parts of the table. Having played two games on that layout, we had some shootouts beyond 32" (because otherwise what's the point of a Sniper Rifle?), but most engagements were within 24", Chain Rifles/Mines/Heavy Pistols/Zappers/Shotguns etc. were used several times and there was also some close combat.
Isn't that double green containers just overlooking most of enemy DZ ? Not to mention that side might have troubles hiding even LI list....
No. There's LoF to and through the woodland in the middle of the other DZ, and through a 4" gap between the card buildings and the objective room. No other part of the enemy DZ at ground level was visible from there, except maybe the left far corner where nobody would need to go anyway. Again, not the case. From left to right, the DZ contained the following Total Cover: Enclosed building, The double-green containers, The three stacked low containers, The 'sailplants' in the brown area, The roof of the card building, The two L-arranged containers. It would be different for 8" DZs, but the event doesn't have any of those missions.
For reference, this shows the total coverage into the enemy DZ for S2 targets at ground level. There would be a slight extra LoF into the area behind the objective room if someone stood up on the containers, but only to troopers standing in the open at the back.
