I hope this hasn't already been asked, but I've got a few things I'm not clear about with Seed-Embryo. When you deploy a model in the Seed-Embryo state, it gets access to a special "Hatch" ARO which functions like a dodge, but changes your model state instead of allowing you to move. However, I see nothing that says a Seed-Embryo can't apply the normal ARO Dodge rules. Can a Seed use ARO Dodge instead of Hatch? What about if it's hit by a template out of LoF? Can it Hatch at a -3 in place of a Dodge at -3? Can a Seed move 2" as part of that ARO Dodge? It has no MOV value, but that's not a requirement in the Dodge rules. (I don't feel like it should be able to, but...) What about if a Seed passes an ARM roll and then has to make a Guts roll? Can it move 2" as part of that? (Again, I want the answer to be "no", but I don't see any support for it) Final bonus, can a Seed declare Change Facing as a ZoC ARO? This one I have no problem with, as it has no weird add-on effects.
No restrictions are listed on the Skills that can be declared in Seed-Embryo state. So yes, jumping-bean Seed-Embryos is a thing, but they won't get to hatch while doing so. Note that there's no real purpose to declaring Change Facing (unless it's via Alert) as Hatch is a valid ZoC reaction.
Thanks for clarifying! And thanks also for pointing out that you can Hatch from ZoC; I'd overlooked that.
As far as the GUTS roll goes, note that the seed embryos all have WIP 0, so if they survive an attack they're going to be hopping behind corners and probably prone. It feels like this is mostly just a matter of just not trying to pile a bunch of exceptions into the seed embryo state. And it's probably more rewarding to think of it as the Shasvastii survival drive.
Excellent point about the WIP score; I hadn't looked at it that carefully. Those seeds are going to be inching all over the place. True, but they can still use it to evade things at a PH-3 roll. The part where you change your facing isn't always the most important bit. However, as @ijw pointed out, you can declare Hatch as a ZoC ARO, and that's at full PH.
