So when I first started playing back in N2, I was drawn in by YJ and the premise of Invincible Army as well as much of the faction as a whole. I also had very little experience with painting at that point and produced less than remarkable results... Now, after stripping and repainting my YJ something like 6 times and with the release of IA, I found it only fitting to revisit my original scheme and repaint my entire YJ force now that I've grown significantly as a painter. Here is the first of the minis ive (re)completed.
@mittenninja Well, well, you've certainly improved alot over the years. I think the rest of your force will turn out great in your first color scheme. Especially after seeing the results of your labour on the Kanren.
Finished up my first Zuyong in the new scheme. I wanted a Dual Breaker Pistol model so that it could stand in as whatever profile I needed (and cause dual pistols is rad).
Finally finished another model (my hobby time has been minimal with a new baby and a 2 year old). And here's the whole crew so far.
I also love your color scheme since I enjoy more tactical schemes over the bright default schemes for many of the factions. Unfortunately my paint skills are far inferior to yours, but as your example shows I just need to keep working at it. Great job!
Looks great! I'm tempted to run that scheme on my IA, except I have been planning on desert tactical colors for my Haqq.
Well, most of my current Haqq collection is actually Hassassin, and I'm not that impressed with the Dahshat troop mix to be honest. I'm more likely to throw down on Ramah when I expand. Supersoldiers and power armor!
Whaaaaaa? Linkable Rui Shi, wildcard ABH, Sforza and Miranda, McMurrough, Zuyong/Zhencha/Hulang, Kum, there is so much flexibility there. I'm still wrapping my head around the implications of all the fireteam/wildcard options.
@Section9 tends to play single combat group lists, Dahshat wants you to leverage alot of irregular firepower it doesn't really fit his thing.
Finally getting back around to my YJ after a detour into Dahshat. I'm going to be going hard into IA so expect lots of Invincibles in the near future. Here's a Liu Xing I just finished up.
Finished up my Daoying Hacker, which is going to be fielded almost everytime I run both IA and Vanilla YJ.
@mittenninja Yu Jing power armor looks good in these colors. Surprised that no one else has thought to do a desert inspired scheme like this.
Possibly because of Haqq, and possibly because most of the current Chinese gear you see is in Jungle or Ocean camo. I'm kinda tempted to paint at least a few models (Haidao would be a little too obvious) in that blue-and-green Chinese Marine camo pattern.
