Uhh, am I missing something? Only the cheap Pulzar option gets harris. Yay B3 Pulzar I guess? Autocannon does seem like the only interesting profile for Vanilla tho... shame it's so expensive.
Yeah, the best I think I can say about these guys is that they might have really nice models that I can use as proxies for something else. Ah well. Plenty of other cool new stuff to try out.
Oh really? That's interesting... I've only played Tohaa (for 3 months now) so far, so the intricacies of the other fireteams are a mystery to me :p The Chaksa models are pretty cool yeah.
Putting things to Targeted state then shooting them isn't really a thing in the game. Usually targeting comes with low Burst, and it's a lot harder to win a firefight with low Burst than anything else. Second, you still need to shoot them up. You can just put your efforts into having something that's good at shooting in the first place. Longarms seem to be a big miss.
The Phero-Booster in a triad shoots with Burst 2+1; I like it more than the FO painting of the target because you do both damage and Targeted with the Phero-Booster. Since the Kriigel are total hits for me, I'll see how they perform on the field before I make any assertions, but on a baseline I'm thinking of using them with the Smart Rockets Chaksa over the Longarms.
Yeah i will try kriigel with smark rocket out next week gonna be fun :) maybe i can shoot a swiss guard with it
I spend a lot of time looking at the chaksa longarm profile and I have a question. Is there any use for them in tohaa ? In spiral corps, I understand their use but in vanilla tohaa it eludes me
No use at all, we have better tools for that price. Altough I will get them when the box is released (it they are released at all). Maybe I'll try them as aditional ARO pieces that could turn later into attackers if everything else fails.
Chaksa Longarms are useful for those of us who want to put as many Chaksa on the table as possible despite CB making it painful for us to do so.
For I while I held hope that the profile was mistaken and that Corvus had forgotten to add something, like Mimemtism or a Visor. But nope, looks like this profile is here to stay.
Reex and Chaksa Longarms got the short straw in vanilla Tohaa, the only reason to play them is because you like the look.
Even level 1 would have been great. Then they would not have to rely on a Haris in the active turn. My army is showing the Reex can still be in a special Triad with the Kriigel Agent in Tohaa. Does anyone know if this is accurate, or if it is a bug in army? If it is not a bug, I think a couple of Boarding Shotgun Reex with a Kriigel could be a fun little unit.
There's a tonne of things that are more useful in a firefight than raw BS stat (actually, they are pretty much the same, just cheaper, or more available). Like ODD, CH levels, surprise shot, fireteams. So just having BS11 doesn't make it bad at firefights. Having only BS11 and not much else does. Like an ODD and a full core would make them pretty good.
MSV, Mimetism, Hyper-dynamics something... But they just have a gun n Raw BS 11... That's actually what I mean... It's Raw BS 11 n the gun nothing else.. That not winning very often... If I was making the Unit I would have made them like both Helots and Libertos units mixed into the profiles... And not added fishmen units into spiral... But that's just me
