Yeah, that's it. It's too tall to be a Mowang and the white blotches sufficiently matches the AltUijia once you account for the white blotches not exactly needing to be all that accurate. https://www.instagram.com/p/BvCKQtODIcu/ Edit: also note the base...
Nah, he’s way too subtle. Honestly I want CB to go full crazy, like they did with the Shikami. Nothing short of this will satisfy me:
I would love to see them have some kind of monofilament spear, something really different and cooler to what the Kanren have. Even better, a double sided blade like this one, so I can pretend I have a HI Chinese Dark Maul on the table: It would be difficult to use a Combi with this, but it would be so cool...
Not to be a killjoy but CB's recent aesthetic has been moving away from futuristic fantasy for YJ and more towards grounded functionality. See the Boarding Shotgun and general redesigns in weaponry for Pan-O's Panzerfausts amongst other things.
Fairly certain this is more to do with having weapons more distinctive and identifiable at a distance. This is both better for gaming (visual fidelity of profiles) and better for sales (less easy to proxy if you want to take advantage of benefit 1). Yu jing shotguns and combis were basically identical, which is probably more 'functional" in the sense of of sharing similar parts for manufacturing.
I think there was a seminar quote last year roughly around the time of the Kuang Shi on their push towards the new weapon aesthetic but don't quote me on that one.
At least today, there's dimensionally a whole lot of difference between shotgun parts and rifle parts. Infinity shotguns are basically trying to be the frag part of the XM29 OICW (or Daewoo K11), which is a 20mm round. That's ~8-gauge shotgun size, though 12ga is ~18.5mm. A 12ga shotgun shell won't quite fit into the magazine well of an AR15, for example, the rim is just wide enough that a magazine holding 12ga shells won't fit even though a single 12ga shell will. And 20ga means you're down to 15.5mm bore (about 3/4 the load of a 12ga). Not to mention that the old YJ shotgun had a big drum magazine and what looks like two barrels. I actually saw that as one barrel for the frag rounds and one for the AP rounds, using that big drum as a revolver cylinder. Wouldn't be the first time someone made a multi-layer revolver like that... See also the LeMat revolver which had a shotgun barrel as the cylinder pin with a cap&ball cylinder wrapped around it.
I'd love the Hulang to have a SMG in one hand and a sword in the other one (holding it like the Oni from the JSA starter). I actually want that guy but holding a SMG and a dressed "heavylier".
I'm already listening to the Halo soundtrack while painting, thinking my HI are Spartans since I have begun Infinity, so a true Chief-like model would be more than welcome!
No Guijia buff guys. Actually, no anything Yu Jing related beyond the mercs, really. Which is unsurprising.
