Oh and I just thought of this but in NCA Bipandra can be added to an Orc Haris. That lowers the cost, gives you a specialist, and a doctor to heal your Orcs.

I'm really looking forward to a redux of the 'what's your go to fireteam' thread in a few months. Especially curious to know if the wildcards will make a bolt core a serious contender to the fusi link + csu. I personally think the changes will bring about alternate playstyles for NCA, making it a real possibility.

The fact is that some pano players used bolts before. I think we’ll see an increase for sure. Can anything compete with a fusilier link though in terms of cost effectiveness? A fusilier link with a Kamau. As for NCA, with the addition of CSUs and wildcards, I can see almost no reason to take another core fireteam over fusiliers. Plus, the bolt haris I think is where bolts will shine.

One major stipulation, a fusilier link is best as a static fireteam. If your going to need to move up the table and be far more CQB focused (such as clearing buildings) then a Bolt core link is far more attractive. That does make Bolts mission and opponent dependent but they are a far more viable option now.

Yeah, but there’s already a really good unit for cqb and clearing rooms. I call it the Auxilia. I’d take an Auxilia or several over a bolt link any day.

    Peacemakers are solid too.

The bolt haris can clear rooms and set traps just about as well for 40-50 points fewer. Then the fusiliers can still provide orders.

In the end it comes down to play style though. I don’t like being super aggressive with core teams because there are so many ways that a warband, flamethrower, or shotgun.can just wipe out your one wound guys and gut my order pool.

The problem with Auxilia remains order efficiency.

Now, for a certain style of NCA list that's not too much of a problem, but that doesn't mean that it's not a problem.

And for some missions, against some opponents, you're going to want Auxilia, and Peacemakers AND a Bolt Core. The fact that the latter is no longer literally punished only increases the number of people who will reach for it.

The expanded options will help too.

Now, that being said, I too believe we will see the Haris more often.

I think suppressive fire cancels the fireteam.

But if he can't be in the mid-field, is there any point to the multi rifle profile even with the wild-card? Might as well stick to the HMG... at which point, its the old debate of why take the Aquila HMG when you can have a Swiss?

I'm not saying you're right or wrong either way about its survivability. I just think that kind of thinking completely negates the unit overall.

Thats the whole point of the drop bears, to help prevent the Aquila from being swarmed. The haris is less important as a buff to the Aquila and more important as an order efficient way to move drop bears to the mid table to help protect the Aquila.

thats not really accurate. Theres plenty of things that cant and wont choose to fight a BS15 B2 DA ARM4 MSV3 bastard. He cant be surprised either so skirmishers arent going to want to go near him.

Hes a very solid supplement to an aggresive core or haris link.
Personally Im very keen to try him in a haris, bot the ORC and the Bolt option

Auxilia to me are awesome. The FO is an excellent profile, the Auxbot provides a great defence against marauding warbands and such and the Auxilia can defend zones effectively, grab objectives as needed etc. For 15pts it's really good, bearing in mind I play 14pts and 0.5 SWC for a Puppet Master who does much the same job but only has a one shot mine without spending more orders to put more down. Obviously Counterintelligence and Mines are very good, no complaints, but if I could take a couple of Auxilia FOs in Tunguska I absolutely would, all the time.

    I agree.

'though I do like what @Death was saying above about Drop Bears. Now that there are more viable platforms for them, and a really dangerous "weapon" for them to deliver, I think that they are going to be even more valuable.
