I´m very sad. I liked Lasiq Fireteam Core very much....they were one of my favourite option in my HB LI list. The rest of the new options sounds amazing. However, I´m devastated due to lose the Lasiqs Fireteam Core :(
Yasbir would have to be a man of extraordinary virtue, nay, the stuff of legends! to be able to coexist with another foursome of himself. Frack, I couldn't cope with just another one of myself! :P
AVAs in that video are likely still vanilla. Fireteam: Core is not a skill, so it's understandable that it's not on a PDF profile. It's not time to panic yet. And perhaps, your Lasiqs will finally enjoy their +3 BS. Anyway, minis. We have sniper, rifle and I think I can use Djabel for the third one. What would be a good mini to use for a fourth? Or, perhaps, any conversion tips for actual Lasiqs so that they don't look same-y?
You can armswap the Sniper and Rifle. Takes a bit of fiddling and maybe a drop of greenstuff, but apart from that, works acceptably. Sorry, I don't have the photo of mine at the moment :(
I would appreciate if you can share it once possible. Maybe I should try exactly that approach, having 3 counts-as-rifle minis and 2 snipers sounds just enough. Not sure if I will ever run those, but for the sake of completeness it should do. Besides, I sure will need some conversion practice in order to assemble original Djan doctor :P
I feel like if they did lose Core that'd be slightly disappointing for some, but it'd make them much more useable to be a Haris option especially with the Wildcards in the Sectoral. Kind of like how I'm a bit ehhh about Zhayedan but then was thinking the other day that a Breaker Rifle Haris profile with a MML2 Sniper and some sort of other troop, if they can link in too, would work absolutely fine for me. Lasiqs themselves have always been pretty decent, lethal weaponry with X-Visors and Mimetism are never bad for a relatively low cost, but in Bahram they always felt like they lacked a real place because they were core but were limited to 4. I ran a solo Sniper a few times and she was actually pretty good but I like the idea of a Haris for them more.
I did a quick google and here is sniper after arm swap. I've done the same thing and its a near perfect swap.I'd take photos of mine, but I'm lazy.
@Cannon Fodder I'm afraid that what you've found is the stock Lasiq Sniper model. Spoiler: Sorry for the delay - I had to retake the photos, the original ones got lost somewhere... Alas: the pair on the left is in original configuration, on the right are the armswaps (also, the oriignal Sniper has the tactical rock under her left boot, I changed it to a boulder that was part of the scenic base for the armswap):
Those look great, @Errhile. Thanks for sharing! The camouflage is also great. I may have to pick up a couple of Lasiq blisters and imitate your kitbash.
Essentially a dazzle-type camo, @Palomides - in this case, light grey, dark grey and black L-shapes (or V-shapes) painted on a green background ina as chaotic manner as I was able to achieve, and criss-crossing each other if it happened so. Spoiler: Two more takes on it Hunzakut: against a yellow-brown (Valejjo Desert Yellow) background: Knauf: light blue (Valejjo Electric Blue) and bright green (Valejjo Scorpene Green) against grey background (I tend to use 3 colors for the pattern, but frankly I had no idea what would go well here, so I kept to these two):
Honestly one thing that I think I'll be trying is sticking Yasbir in teams to provide a hidden CC killer. It's very Hassassins to have him lurking in HPL1 ready to strike and it will make my opponents fear getting too close!
I thought the same thing, in missions like Armoury having a CC guy who can be a nasty surprise Engage could be very valuable.
I actually just wrote a list like this to maybe take to a tournament soon. Asawira and Muyib mixed core seems perfect for Armory. Between the d-charges, Husam Yasbir, and an Asawira doc+ for that bs23 with no cover I’m excited to try them out. I already like taking it with the haris, but that extra oomph from the +3bs feel real nice
If I remember correctly, it's only been revealed that Asawiras can form a core with Govads. I don't think they'll be able to form a core with Muyibs. EDIT: I misremembered!
In the video it was said that up to 2 Asawiras can join Govad or Muyib Core. So we've basically got a larger version of Asawira Haris, in practical terms :P
