So i wanted to make a positive thread for the Namurr because despite all the love for the mukhtar i still felt more drawn towards the numarr from a visual and profile design perspective but found the unit to be good but not fantastic at many things and wondered if my love for the namurr was lost. However with the new D-falls rules, suddenly she has some real solid value. Multiterrain for dealing with things like the dazer and ever increasing inclusions of terrain rules in tournaments, and total immunity without exception. So she likely is immune to things like Viral, T2, Plasma, K1, and perhaps even Monofilament. All this couples with a solid DTW and mobility makes her excellent for hunting the hunters or just surviving as a specialist. So, what do you guys think?
Well, she actually does lots of things for a LI more survivable than HI. I don't see Numarrs and Mukhtars as competitors, because they seem to work best in cooperation. Numarr can face-tank almost any ARO and is able to effectively neutralize HI, REMs and even TAGs, while still being a great specialist, and Mukhtars are great hunters, who can provide Numarr with medical assistence and anti LI/Camo fire support.
Multiterrain "transforms" into a specific terrain skill at the beginning of the match. I'm not sure Dazer counts as some sort of specific terrain, or has the same clause mission-specific terrain has (that units with any terrain skills can move freely through it). We don't know if she will have some Vulnerabilities added. Besides, I'm very curios how this transition will happen. Does new Total Immunity mean, for example, that Flash Pulse will be treated as Normal ammo?
I also can't take Mukhtars seriously, because of an old TV Series about a police dog named Mukhtar. Just can't stop saying "Mukhtar, fetch!" inside my head whenever I play them.
Even without the update, Total Immunity is pretty beastly. Agreed, the two are for different roles. I'd assume not, but my honest guess is that we're going to see things like Dog-Warriors with "Total Immunity (Vulnerability: Viral, Adhesive, Stun)" in the description.
Then there's their appearance, even noted by Bostria himself in the announce video. Spoiler: Rare footage of Mukhtar in CC
I think the thing about the Namurr is that it's BS 12, with no mods or mod negators, and costs 40+ pts for a Spitfire. So people are like "hmmmm..." and that's fair. But we have Mukhtar and Hortlak, so do we really need another gunfighter? What I like is the mobility and resilience of a multi-threat specialist. Stopping the Namurr reaching her objective will be very tough. And as a theat she's got that big template and so on. Plus a 1 SWC Spitfire that fast and tough is nice.
For me the Namurr feels kind of unfocused. She's has a bit of everything but certainly pays for it as a result. I think it depends on your playstyle, if you are good at leveraging super flexible units like that she can really shine. I personally gravitate towards a larger number of cheaper units that are optimized for a single job but that's just me.
This so much this. Especially when they both have Special options for fireteams. If they can join Naffs, Ghulam, Khawarij, or even Zhayedans that would be awesome. I know Wildcard gets tossed out a lot, but an FTO option would be real appreciated.
Something something animal genes something something tiger in the sack Also, threadly reminder that despite looking like warbands, acting like warbands, and being priced like warbands, Ghazi are still LI.
I'm with you on this one. While I think she's fine as is, I think I almost would have preferred for her to be a little less shooty and a little more CC. I know it's sub optimal for the game, but if she was built such that her best active turn option for dealing with being shot at range was to dodge, I believe that'd be interesting. Giver her a kit based around short range engagement and CC and let her leverage her resilience and speed to get her to her effective range. Again, she's fine the way she is, but I think there was definitely some room to tune her a bit differently. While she may not be an 'optimized' gunfighter, based on her profile she's still clearly meant to be one.
Does anyone have any gameplay experience with her yet, i tried to play a game with her, but due to a lack of familiarity i forgot she had an emarat and died to a monk in cc before it was even my first turn.
For me she's the least interesting of the 3 showed profiles. A bit too expensive, a bit too plain, with only BS 12 and no mods, no mimetism... Few good rules doesn't make her great IMO. She still can die easily because of few combi hits - she only has ARM2 and it hurts with that cost. She could've get Natural Born Warrior or at least I-Kohl. Don't think I'll give her many occasions to prove me I'm wrong ;) PozdRawiam / Greetings
I don't know how to feel about people equating brute force stats/rules to "being interesting" on a Haqq subforum, tbh. And at the same time, I'm equally unsure how to feel about statement that model doesn't have enough bloat stats/rules. I guess I'm super hard to please. What I can agree with, however, is the sentiment that the most superhuman-flavoured unit, one of those people were expecting from the release, falls a bit flat on a practical side of things... maybe. Maybe not.
I tried to use one in a test game last night. She was critted twice in a row during my opponents first turn. So. . . tests inconclusive.
Lol, she died to crits in my first game too. Guess the RNG Gods just don't want us to see her true potential)
Maybe there will be some special sectoral profiles to make her more appealing. Or maybe cb might make some last minute tweaks based on our feedback. Idk, she just seems like a supersoldier who isnt refined enough yet. What easy tweak do you guys think would help her?
I am definitely looking forward to using her. But the only tweak I would want is something I been wishing for Haqqislam for a while: Sensor on a living unit. If they give her a sensor profile I would be over the moon.
I think she is the perfect couple for the Mukhtars, as you have said. However I see her like camo hunter because she can clean mines, koalas and madtraps due to her increased dodge and she can go where other troops cannot seeking and destroy camo troops on top of the roofs and kill them with the shotgun. I would have preferred her as a CC specialist (like the Hulang...with MA and Stealth) or Sensor...but Total Inmunity, Hyperdinamics L2, Specialist and Climbing Plus are good skills. In active turn will be complicated that she can be killed. In my case, I think the problem will be try to make a list with Khawarijs, Mukhtars, Namurrs and Tuaregs (my favourite troops) xD
