What can IA bring to The Armory

    The Armory might be one of the missions where the Húláng has its role. Let me see your lists for The Armory!

    Thinks I can imagine are useful for this mission:
    - Close quarter specialists
    - Template weapons, especially Flamethrowers
    - Camo-Markers
    - Sensor
    - Mines
    - Spec-Fire

    So my army lists tried to include this with the following in mind:
    - Hac Tao Missile Launcher to kill Links walking through the door
    - Finally finding a place to try out the Hulang
    - Linkteam with Spec-Fire and Hacking Defense/Offense
    - Engineer to recover from E/M grenades
    - Fire templates
    - Sensor

    I like the list. Would you say it's worth it to drop the Zuyong N2 to a Combi or BSG to add a Yudbot so the Engineer has more reach?

    Perhaps... The reason for the N2 Combi is to give the Link more survivability. But depending on the what your facing, a Zuyong Boarding Shotgun and the extra reach for the engineer is worth it.

    Now I must admit, I have never played this scenario ( Probably since it requires the tables to be set up specifically for this mission with a central room. ), but...
    I'm always up for an excuse to kill five minutes in the army builder.

    This is a VERY basic idea for what I might think about using in a mission like this.
    I opted for the Shang Ji TinBot over a ZuYong one for the Light Flamethrower, since the armory itself will probably end up being very cramped. Tai Shengs Chain Colt also helps. HMG is in the link for the purpose of ''In the event I must shoot something on my way inside, I shall use this.'' scenarios. Usual KHD Haidao for hacker defense.
    The Daoying will either power the link teams advance OR give Fairy Dust when need be, mostly. MAYBE hack through the cheap-orders-and-pulses Chaiyi if there is ever a good reason for doing so.
    The Hulang and the Zhencha are there to either:
    A: Get to the armory and tidy the place up for the Cores arrival.
    B: Try going in from the sides as flanking pieces to surround the armory and make it harder for the enemy to barge inside without risking a backside full of SMGs.

    Now, while writing this up, I did have a second idea as well...
    ...which might not be nearly as practical but is wroth a humorous shot...

    Since the scenario specifies that the outer walls are destructible... I just thought... why not do away with having a specialist open the door entirely, and instead make your own door with a Yan Huo Haris? Just... shoot a good handful of missiles at the armory and recover the scraps instead, since there is obviously not going to be anything valuable in that armory that Yu Jing technicians have not made a superior version of.
    Again, a Daoying to fuel the NCO/Fairy Dust it up.
    This time around the boys who will be sitting on the debris of the armory are a KHD Hac Tao and a Mowang with a Spitfire. Probably parked up in suppressive fire if ever possible, to stack some really juicy negative hit modifiers on the enemy. And they are so expensive they can overpower several enemy units for control too! And in case that would not suffice, there is a Panguiling who'll follow the Mowang in there, to cheerfully reload his Flammenspeer and give a repeater for the Daoying/Haidao to work through. Could also probably watch the Hac Taos and Mowangs backs as a Warming! bot too, I suppose.
    Chaiyis do AROs, Yan Huo might do so too once there is a nice gaping hole in the armory, Haidao is in the Haris for extra burst, the Zuyong can help reposition the group, and the barebones baggage bot... I genuinely have no idea how to utilize a barebones baggage bot, the concept of using them is foreign to me. He'll... exist, I suppose?

    I didn't agree with your inclusion of Mowang to this particular party, simply because he'll have a hard time fitting through the door and doesn't bring a whole lot of close range power. I made two small changes; changed Mowang to Tai Sheng and upgraded mr. Baggage to another missile launcher (because why not?)
    Tai Sheng MK12 is, IMO, made and mandatory to this mission because she has something that's direly in short supply for IA; a grenade at decent chance to hit. Deform the Haris to have the Haidao and Tinbot reform with Tai Sheng to get to +3 BS MOD if you have enemies clustered up inside the place.

    Ideally if there is a way to find 7 to 20 points in order to upgrade the Chaiyi to Zhanshi Yisheng/Gongcheng, I have a feeling this list will suffer heavy attrition otherwise.

    The idea was to avoid the door altogether and just destroy the wall instead, honestly. That's what the Yan Huo is in the Haris for, after all: that wall HAS to crack after 3 shots of AP+EXP Dam 14 ( Hopefully ) BS17 shots.
    Also, personally, in this list, I'd just drop the Son-Bae altogether ( Unless you maybe have it in the Haris instead of the Haidao, at which point it might just work as a Markmashipped ARO piece honestly. ) and replace it with a Zhanshi Yisheng and Yaozao.

    Granted, these lists may be influenced by my maybe somewhat unusual meta being a lot more favourable to single-group HI centric listbuilding than most ( TL;DR, the most frequent faction here is Ariadna and it's sectorials, followed by CA and it's sectorials. Barring the PanO and Nomad player ( And the one single YJ player, me. Well, there technically is another one, but he plays JSA a lot more. ), it's rather rare to see an infowar setup that'd be of any significant threat, as most infowar locally is ''Buff the HMG bot'' or ''Make the Combat Jumper jump better.'' ), but that's generally how people do, adapt to their metas as best as they can.

    @Maksimas the idea is basically to use some of the left over SWC and form one Haris (Zuyong, Yan Huo, Haidao) and one 3-Core (Tai Sheng, Pango, Son-Bae). It really is an after-thought but it does give some flexibility to the list and allows you to spread the "Long Distance Relationship" a bit more over the table if you need to have either Haris do a flanking manoeuvre.

    If your meta is as heavy on camo as that, then maybe having Tai Sheng instead of Mowang is even better; she does have a Chain-Colt and decent WIP, after all.

    Alright, I can see the justification behind that.

    It does depends from player to player though. We have a USARF player who generally goes for low-camo lists. Whilst another tends to have such a high excess of camo he becomes physically incapable of maintaining so many marker states ( As in his Courtesy lists are COMPLETELY blank. ). Beyond that, once you get outside the Ariadna players, beyond the ALEPH/Nomad/YuJing players, camo starts to drop REAL fast in it's frequency.
    Still, the Chain-colt would allow her to trade decently enough with mid-field infiltrator road-blocks or be able to at least provide a decent alternative for close range defense, so I can totally see the merit of taking her for that alone.

    Don't forget that in Armory you score 5 pts for holding the armory at the end of the game and only 1pts per turn if you hold it earlier. Truth be told this mission is more like 2 turn of annihilation, where you'll try to kill all the exensive and annoying stuff in your opponent army, without necessarily holding the room until the last turn. Eventually send a lone guy in the armory early on to take a few panoplies, drop some mines and hold the room if possible.

    Also I agree with @Mahtamori , Taï sheng MK12 is almost auto include in this mission because of her stun grenades.

    So yeah what you really want is Taï Sheng's zuyong pain train, a daoying (all profile, even sniper is nice because it has mines) a zhencha SMG (because mines²) and whatever you can still afford after that to round-up the list:

    I think the hulang would need smoke to really perform in this scenario, or a very specific match-up because E/M aren't that useful unless there is a fireteam and/or HIs in the armory.

    Sorry for a bit of grandfathering, but I thought I share the final list and the result.
    In a test match, I realized that a (Assault)Hacker in a 4+ link that sits in the Armory after turn 1 can ruin IAs day.
    I literally had nothing unhackable that could open the door. So sadly, I had to drop the HuLang again and played the game with the following list.

    Thanks for sharing. So in your test were you running a link with tinbot and a haido killer hacker and that still wasn't good enough?

    I think that's a great list for the mission. The armory might be the time to actually use Shang Ji. Maybe more than one! He's one of the few with template weapon, he has good armor/BTS, and ok CC if he needs it.

    Another thing to remember, once the armory is open, you can spec fire grenades into it. So maybe time to finally use a Zhanshi LGL.

    I restrained from using the big HI link, because my opponent was Onyx and one potential Noctifer could have ended the game. In a tournament environment, the list would look different.

    Just had a fun win vs The player who taught me how to play,
    Played armoury- IA vs vanilla nomads. I lost roll and went first, spent my first turn sending Zhanshi with Haidao MS link to go and nuke some morlocks before they could get into the room and cause me grief. Do a decent job except my LT daoying sniper gets cocky and dies to ARO intruder sniper.
    I was a bit over exposed with the link so next turn daz used intruders and smoke to flank the link and kill all but 3 models and HD hac tao. Nearly in loss. Killed a few more units with the Haidao sniper. Next turn I converted irregular orders from loss and moved the hac tao up to fight an intruder HMG but He failed. My engineer sacrificed himself to kill a heckler in the objective room. In Dazs turn my hac tao was discovered. It survived with one wound and killed an intruder HMG in ARO. It survived a wound from the HMG and dodged into the objective room with kinematika! In my final turn the hac tao went camo, cautious moved out of sight of the sniper intruder and then surprise killed Daz’s LT and last turn daz didn’t have enough orders to do anything so I won 5-0

    This is exactly what I love infinity for: the Hac Tao doing cool shit

    Nope, it died from the HMG intruder. I played engineering deck too and it died again (from a chimera viral ccw) and did nothing lol.
    I haven't had it do anything yet really in 3 games of use.

    My main success with the Hulang so far has been using it with Sun Tze. Being able to out deploy the enemy largely fixes its issues of getting picked off.
