Dazer + Multiterrain is just hilarious on a 6-2 model. You sacrifice almost nothing to drop your Dazer, and then walk through it like you don't even care. The Draal is just such a good toolbox.

And in Vanilla, you can link him with your FD1 Gao-Rael Spitfire for even more hilariousness due to Stratocloud.

I don't think multiterrain helps. Multiterrain helps you vs a specific typed terrain such a Zero G. The Dazers just create very difficult terrain which is untyped.

Any terrain skill works vs the untyped difficult terrain in Rescue.

I'll likely use the guy, at least for testing, as a stand-in for the Sukeul. A Sukeul is a better gunfighter but she's pure in that role, offering very little else unless you take the FO Profile (my favorite, no one seems to like them).

Draal is faster, something Tohaa could really use, and can get on the mid-field which is huge in a lot of the usual competitive Missions. You can use the Dazer to lock down an Objective, VERY strong in Unmasking/Decapitation, or take the Minelayer if you think you'll be going second more. I like that adaptability because you can tailor the same model to different Missions for only 1pt and 1 SWC difference.

While an SMG isn't my favorite gun it is on a mobile platform and AP is hard for Tohaa to get, in general we can struggle with high ARM. Pulzar is fantastic, especially with the mobile Low-Visibility Zone. He picks fights with Fireteams very well or he can help a Gao-Rael pick off a straggler, Fireteams are another major area of concern for Tohaa because we just don't have the models to go to toe to toe with a Fireteam: Core Sniper or HMG.

Stratocloud makes this guy, without it he's aggressively meh. You can do so much stuff with that rule that it's insane, hopefully he does ignore it as some have said because then he's bonkers. I'm hoping the Stratocloud doesn't go away when he takes a Wound but it probably does, fortunately he's fast to playing him safe isn't too hard. He's also got a Viral Pistol which seem to be littered across Spiral Corps, that means we are still the best Faction at negating the influx of Shock Immune, NWI models.

Overall the model seems very fun to play with and very strong. Pairing him with a Makaul is a no-brainer, he's also the only good home I've seen if you want to take a Kriigel. Since the Draal is a Specialist AND the primary fighter you are freed up a Triad spot, he also wants to get close and the Kriigel wants to help out with Eraser and Mirrorball.

Multiterrain helps with untyped terrain in any and every mission.

If anything I'd say the section you have quoted indicates the opposite.
Pick a terrain type, you can then ignore difficult and very difficult terrain of that type. Multiterrain only helps against untyped terrain because of the exception in the mission.

I am going to troll people so hard with Dazers. I have an event coming up featuring Biotechvore. It's going to be the best.

I can't read apparently. I guess we do have to wait for the rule.

Step 3. Of the order, I'm out of ZoC of it, I move 6".

Step 7. Oh, turns out that I was in it. My bad.

Yeah it has a specific clause for that in the mission though. By default Multiterrain doesn't help.

You can't know where the Zone starts until Resolution ergo it doesn't affect you unless you start the order in the Zone.

I'm not saying that it's the correct interpretation, but it's an interpretation. [emoji14]

(It's probably actually the easiest way to play it as well)

Also, the Draal helps against those cheap Teamplates that hit Tohaa very hard because we were pretty average when Dodging but have several Fireteams and so it's easy to hit several Troopers at the same time and also because even our IP's had low ARM. The Draal can Move+Dodge against Mines (or enemy ARO Fire when inside the Startocloud) and have reasonable chances of surviving while also loosing very little movement thanks to the 6+2 Move value.

Sounds a bit like intentional bad faith to me but let's wait for the rule then put it to the rules forum. But for reference, if you played Rescue that way to completely avoid the 'stop on contact' part of the difficult terrain in the exclusion zone I would give you a fucking talking to and no mistake.

Yeah, the difference is the one in Rescue is open information.

ZoC being unable to be premeasured is what makes this weird. It's unplayable without additional information as to how to resolve this issue (you only get affected by the difficult terrain if you started in ZOC is one option, ZOC of a Dazer is always open information is another and 'rubber banding' is a third).

What makes the one in rescue open information? E.g. what is the difference between the exclusion zone in Rescue and the various zones in Frontline, Supremacy etc (which, to my understanding, you can't pre-measure and check only at scoring)?

Because you need to measure it to deploy the civilians or to deploy anything that can't go into the exclusion zone.

Same reason DZs are open information.

Yes, but that just means you have to measure at deployment and can very easily intuit them for the remainder of the game - which is not quite the same thing as being open information.

E.g. you have to conduct measurements to place objectives in Frostbyte, Supremacy etc as well.
