i remember the old good days when pheromare tactics level 1 is announced. how much we were happy those days by thinking level 2 would come.
i am just now enjoying the final moments of vanilla.

Well, that was something I missed them. And it is pretty obvious, with the profile with / without symbiont armor. So yeah, that changes quite a bit, as they can take out Sakiel specialist place with the same resilience, but bringing much more to the table. The issue I had with them was them being so much more expensive withouth the 2nd wound ( that I somehow skipped over)

Changed the original post to reflect that.

Its 16 points for a BS12 combi rifle that can surprise attack in a triad. It also allows you to go first when you really need to.

Pheroware Tactics L2 was being able to use the Tactic without blowing up a SymbioBomb. As it was already covered by the existing wording, it wasn't added as a separate Skill. In other words, you've already got it, on all units that list Pheroware Tactics.

    Holo1 isn't a marker state so can't Surprise Shot/Attack.

I'm not sure about that Surprise Attack, as Holoprojector Lv1 doesn't give you the choice of deploying as a the Holoecho marker state.

It would require Holoprojector L3, currently the only way to be in a marker state in a Fireteam.

Doh, got my 1s and 2s mixed up. I always thought holo 1 let you surprise attack.

It's still 16 points for a BS12 linkable breaker combi, great for gunning down Ariadnans!

I´m a little surprised by the indifference to the Kiel-Saan. It gives Tohaa a Massed Armour Tactics option that didn´t exist before imho. ARM7 in cover with 4 wounds is much beefier than a top ARM4 Rasail which is the closest comparison for durability.

Aren't you discounting the Ectros? Given that its Arm 6 in cover with 3 wounds?

2 points more and you get a BS12 normal combi with two wounds. And for what Iwould need the breaker I usually have a K1 in my rooster.
I don't say he is completely useless but can be considered only in edge cases.

For his cost you get 4/8 orders with 4 wounds who have a better CC capability and eclipse grenades.

Ectros does the same. Gorgos is much better for not that much of a price increase. Neither are really good. ARM prices are kinda inflated unless you are fighting Combi Rifle, the army. And that in a world that has more AP at every new release with the ubiqutous smg.

Where are you getting those 4 wounds from?

I guess a 'Mate is considered an autoinclude.

Well I've had great success with the Mowang. It's sort of the same concept, trades the mate for mimetism and has great CC capability. I want to try it, for sure.

Tohaa has always been massed armor tactics, whether or not you believe it. More wounds per point on 2W+ models than any other army. How many factions get 3 wounds for 21 points like a Kaeltar? or 2 wounds for just 18 like a Sakiel?

I hadn't considered a bomb on the impersonator. Pity almost every time I've used a bomb I've flubbed the roll and wished it was a mate instead, otherwise I might be excited. Does give him more game as an assassin though.

Big boy really just feels like a Tohaa multiwounder for Spiral Corps, not something to be run in vanilla. Seriously has no game at all as far as I can tell and feels incredibly redundant.

Personnaly i don't use to hire those kind of big guys. If you want a fireteam with him in spiral, it will cost you a third of your amry point, and for the same price you can hire 2 clipsos or one fireteam in tohaa (Makaul+sakiel viral+kamael spe). Even if I'll give a try I think this kind of big guy is not as efficient as what you may have for the same price.

When comparing to a good profil, like the rasail you see : it's more expensive (more than 50 versus 34-40), loose nanoscreen stuff, doesn't have access to viral, can't be an aggressive lieutenant able to have a good use of his lieutenant order. Ah and Rasail bring a chaksa ...

And finally, his loadouts are nice, but really don't bring anything special. This profil is a bit dull.
    Personnal point of view.

I would not count him out, though. The Red Fury is a scary weapon and anything below 8“ will be in his Assault range, making this guy quite versatile when it comes to combat and killing. I could easily see him taking out more points than he's costing.
That being said, he really lacks a LT profile and I could just as easily see him being a very expensive order monkey.
