So in the first DF reveal video, @Bostria points out that the book colors were chosen to be red, green, and blue. And he emphasizes this as not being an accidental occurrence. So that has me thinking that RGB is the screen color standard for projected images (separate from the CMYK standard used in printing). So my question to the community is did we just get our hint for the Black N in November? Are they telegraphing a video game, or a TV show? Because either of those options would be fantastic! Edit: this is around 9:40 in the DF book reveal video.
...or maybe it's a hint the next book would be these three under one cover, and that cover would be white. That said, I would like to see an Infinity video game. It seems an xcom-style tactical one would be a good fit.
Green and blue with lots of red? The Earth after the Combined Army has killed all life on it. Plot twist confirmed!
RGB. Mix/match with KSR. Trilogy. Done. Human command is transferred to Mars (R/G/B Mars is a great KSR trilogy) after Earth becomes irrelevant. Mars is also the only planet in human controlled space that actually DOES have a line across it's equator (it involves a "beanstalk" (orbital elevator) and a large amount of explosives).
I don't see how different words for the colors would impact the color standard of projected light. You all laugh now, but mark my words! This conspiracy theory is going to be the one that pays off! It is way better than my last three. I expect @Bostria to mention this post in the reveal video in November (at least to make fun of my insane ramblings).
Mybe the next book will be PanoO (blue) Yujing (green) and Combined Army (Red) themed, or the next big thing on adepticon
Kim Stanley Robinson did it better with his R/G/B Mars trilogy. I didn't need that many collectible coasters ...
Your eyes have RGB receptors. Rest of the colors are made up in your brain. Other wavelengths exist, but thanks to some overlap on the receptors, we can "see" them too.
RGB is light, not physical colors. As someone who works with printing goods, I have a deep seething hatred for RGB and all who send RGB files to me.
