I think Triumvirate =/= Spiral Corps. Triumvirate should be a Tohaa sectorial. Spiral corps is only mercenary force that work on Triumvirate.
I find it hard to believe that the rules for shas would drop at adepticon, and then CB would wait 5 months to release the starter box. I mean, it is CB, and they make some weird decisions sometimes, but even that just seems insane to me. MO gets shelved, two player box is White Banner vs Blizzard whatever.
You get Spiral Corps box full of TOHAA miniatures (NA2 or not). As much as I wish the best for TOHAA (you deserved more love waiting for so long), I don't think that two boxes full of TOHAA miniatures will happen. If CB wanted to release Triumvirate in a big box such an Opration XX, they would just drop it now instead of Spiral Corps or wait with it until GENCON and release something else now. I think we can safely assume that Triumvirate sectorial will just be added to the next book.
I don't think Tohaa will get a sectorial (they already have access to fireteams, which is one of the main draws of sectorial anyway), and Spiral Corps is pretty much the Triumvirate anyway (it's their front in the Human Sphere). That's very much the gist of this article: https://www.infinitythegame.com/blo...sign-notes-from-a-different-type-of-scetorial
Triumvirate sounds like a Tohaa Illuminati. It makes sense if they act through proxies instead of being an actual military force. (i.e. similar to how Bostria answered the question about Black Hand not being sectorial material because it's a small organisation that's already lending out their military personnel where needed.)
Well probably that's given. Seeing how things develop and knowing that "meat&potatos" of MO can actually be played in Shval (and knowing current state of MO) I find it very likely.
We were prepped that awful things were gonna happen in the plot this year and it's been fairly rosy so far. I'd speculate that we're way off the mark and we'll see more of what's coming once a month or two has passed
... for Ariesta! Edit: Seriously, according to the road map, April and July are going to be the next FAQ updates. I remember what Privateer Press's "complete and total FAQ" for 1st edition looked like.
I'll admit i haven't paid much attention to whats going on with O-12 in the last 2 years or so, but does anyone think that they could make it into Gencon? It would be cool to see them come out as a na2 with lots of original models, surfacing to fight the now more universal alien threat... help unify the sphere in a time of chaos? I haven't heard the last word on O-12, but it seems like a good time for them. If not, then next year's response to the year of the alien would also be a good time.
Bostria mentioned in a video recently that O-12 are not currently in the works but would be a full proper faction rather than an NA2
That makes sense. But even as a full faction, they could still be a great answer to the new aliens. Don't know if they would want to debut them in a 2 player box however. Maybe a great closing release for this year with an announcement in gencon. Edit: any word on the black hand as either a Sectoral or NA2? They would certainly be an odd choice to face down shasvastii, so an existing NA2 perhaps makes the most sense. I also realize tunguska is still new, and has some overlap, but I'd still love to see them and their unethical praxis tech.
Last thing we heard about the Black Hand is that they're more of a background thing and don't really have a battlefield identity, kind of like the Hexahedron or Yu Jing intelligence services. I could see a Black Hand controlled NA2 though, kind of like how Spiral Corps are a front for the Triumvirate.
It's called Tunguska, and what part of "killer robots controlled by brains in jars owned by the bank" sounds ethical to you? :)
:) valid point about the hollow men, leviathan. they are one of my favorite units. To be fair though, i did say in the same sentence that Tunguska has some overlap with black hand. I'm actually super happy with Tunguska, and i'd been waiting for it for years. I'm an old N2 Player, I just haven't posted since the forum change over. Just because Tunguska is awesome doesn't mean we can't push that envelope a little further with some more black hand focused characters or pieces. They could just slide into Tunguska or Bakunin though, and i'm OK with that. It makes sense that black hand would stay in the background for now... but I remember a time on the forums were people were clamoring for it, and I still think it could make a great NA2. Thanks for the updates colbrook, i'm jumping back into the forums after a long time focusing on art and other parts of my life, so the statements about O-12 and the black hand are news to me. I was wondering more why no one was mentioning them, and it makes sense now. Current state of infinity looks great though, so i'm happy to be back.
Black Hand is supposedly a subset of Tunguska, just as the Observance is a subset of Bakunin. Not really big enough to be sectorials in their own right.
I feel like pointing out that they don't even have to be deep cover given that we know there were multiple ships that were headed to the Milkyway and we only know of one that got discovered. It could just be Combined Shasvastii Vs. Free Shasvastii.
I don't want MO getting shelved. I want them put as a NA2. I want Blizzard to have minimal MO garbage.
